ugly sight that must be avoided and I cover it up at all costs?

Oh.

Right.

That was you, then. You ever get that boob job?

And you gotta back off with the being bitter about the kids making you fat/flabby/whatever thing. Kids are cool, man. You'd figure they'd be worth it, you know?

I don't have to "back off" about anything and since you'll never have to risk the possibility of having a c-section or 3 ruining your body for life you can take your comments and shove them.

No, hon, you don't have to to do anything much less "back off". I was merely suggesting that your bitterness is, if anything, quite unbecoming. No, I've never had a C-section, and god willing I never will. And no, I'll never carry a term, and, again, god willing, I never will. My metabolism will, however, slow down at some point. And when it does, I'll take the steps to deal with whatever result weight gain happens. And i won't bitch abuot it. And I won't complain about it. And I won't blame it on anyone else. I'll deal with it.

So, feel free to go on being bitter. If that works for you, hey, more power to you. I'm sure your kids'll love to hear how you can't stand the fact they made you fat. And if you've come back to unfatness after having kids, kudos and accolades to you. Do you want a cookie? (or would that violate your diet?)

Feelings too huh? like what? "I'm large and in charge?" If you are overweight AND YOU KNOW IT, why on Earth would you wear clothes you can hardly fit into? It makes NO sense and people DONT want to see that when they're out in public. There is such a thing as being happy with who you are tho and I respect that, just as long as being who you are doesn't invlove trying to fit into clothes that someone else should be wearing.

Eh? Funny how Americans have this idea that it's okay for them to get fat after having kids, as if having kids mean you must eat badly. I also don't know why Geekbabe says she's fat because I've seen pics and I don't remember her being fat.

But regardless of anything else, fat people should not wear clothes that make them look bad.

I'm not fat,I did however make the mistake of having a few surgeries, lol,I wish they'd have just let me die:)

I bowed to the social convention being touted here that these surgeries and other scars and marks meant the end of feminine attractiveness, that no matter how thin I got I was still unsightly and that it was inappropriate for me to wear a skirt, shorts or a bathing suit and I have not done so in close to 20 yrs in order to avoid the type of ridicule being posted about here.

I would never dream of mocking another person for choosing to wear what they please or for their size.Btw,those of you who enjoy mocking others, consider the thought that you could be just one serious illness or accident away from being considered unsightly yourselves..treat others with the same empathy you'd like to be given if youir looks deviated from the cultural ideal.

I'm going to have to go with caitlion (and others) here. People need to just calm down. I personally don't like to look at fat chicks trying to wear belly shirts or fit into some tiny shorts (esp the ones with no pockets on the butt). When I see it, I think "dang, that really is NOT attractive at all, she probably shouldn't wear that....but whatever she feels like doing is fine just don't go out of your way to try and flaunt that blubber in front of me". And I don't feel that anyone should say anything to these girls about being too fat for their clothes b/c that would be extremely rude. Wear what you want fat girls just don't expect others to find it attractive or even tolerable to look at....and I think that's what Caitlion was simply stating.

Nah. They all pick people they like.

Only lycra work out stuff for me. Anything else is not as safe or as efficient OL.

It probably makes them feel good. I don't care what people wear. If they feel good then that is good, less likely that they are going to be p!ssed off at something or anything else.

As a side note when I was in the states I saw more overweight people then I have ever seen in England!

I find this thread highly disturbing and it really is no wonder that most of you are destined to have one arm larger than the other for the rest of your lives.

Two points.

1. A fat girl in tight clothes is no different that a guy wearing socks with sandals or someone wearing some other "fashion faux pas." Some people won't care enough to do a double-take, and others might just chuckle a bit, and others will feel the need to point out the person to those around him or her and hope everyone will join in on the laugh. That's just the way society is.

2. On that note tho', caitlion's original post, "seriously. do they not KNOW that they are fat? or what?" is what I'm assuming triggered all this negativity. It's one thing to say, "Do they not KNOW that they are fat?". It's another thing to say something more tactful like, "Don't they realize that it looks bad on them?"

Funny, I find this thread to be quite amusing! This whole forum probably has less than 20 active female members, but it seems like half of them are fighting with each other over their weight in this thread! CAT FIGHT! :)

Yea, no offense to you ladies but you guys fight worse then some of the guys here!

It comes down to the point caitlion, that you asked for it. You posted this nonsense and you are going to get a battle back. I don't know what you want but you are definitely not giving yourself a good name around here. And I cannot defend you on this, even though I see what you are saying. This is America, people can do whatever the hell they please.

I do understand your opinion, but you are going to get Eakers, Geekbabes, and Tinkerhells opinion right back. Just gotta roll with the punches girl. :)

alright, first of all, geekbabe.. why are you getting all crazy about scars and stuff? i never said anything about your appearance and here you are defending yourself.. against....what exactly? everyone has scars. if you would like to know the truth i have stretch marks all over my ass :) and i havent had kids yet! im sure itll be horrible when i do. i also dont wear shorts or skirts or dresses unless i really have to. thats not the point of this thread. and neither is making fun of fat people. i do realize that the way i worded it may have sounded like i meant it in a cruel way, but honestly that is not how it was intended. one of my ex boyfriends was considerably large and i was at the time 90-95lbs.. but he wore clothes that were appropriate for his size. trust me, how much someone else weighs does not concern me AT ALL. i just dont see the logic in wearing something that really does not look attractive. like i said, you could start another thread about skinny girls who dress skanky...

and now im getting tired of typing. :)

how much someone else weighs does not concern me AT ALL.

but your thread talks specifically about fat girls so obviously size of other girls does matter to you.

again, youre not reading correctly. my thread talks about fat girls WHO WEAR CLOTHES THAT ARE NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THEIR SIZE.
and like i said, you could just as easily make a thread about skinny girls who dress like skanks. does that mean that you have a problem with skinny girls? no, just the ones who dress like skanks. get it yet?

Why? because my dear when you live by the sword you must be prepared to die by the same sword.
Scars ,stretch marks, acne scars all come shortly after fat on the list of features deemed unattractive on women.

You sit here starting a thread making fun of fat women's clothing choices in order to suck up to teenage boys who's ideal women are 2D images.Have a baby, require some surgery or even just make the mistake of growing older, then you can feel the joy of being impaled on the same rigid fashionista police sword that you so freely stick in the back's of other women.

Btw,you don't get to decide what clothing is appropriate for other people and if you think that you do I do so hope that the next time you slip on even a modest bathing suit that some ATOT'er gets a look at your stretch marked rump, points, laughs and starts a thread about your inappropriate clothing choices.

How old are you?I'm 47,I haven't worn a bathing suit since I was 28,almost 20 yrs of deprieving myself of the joys of swimming, sunbathing, almost 20 yrs of sitting around dying in the heat covered from neck to ankle while others were comfortable. All because of marks and scars that I had no control over and my fear of comments from low self esteemed people like YOU

Lemmie tell you,20 yrs foregoing a lot of basic comfort sucked, strange telling people like you now to go fsck yourself is rather sarisfying.Who knows, maybe I'll get brave enough to wear a pair of shorts or a modest suit and actually enjoy some of my summer this year. Thanks:)
