Golden age of Islamic science. You know why its called like that? Because it's been one big nothing after that.

Believe me, that list really is pathetic, and because they have been slow to adopt western progress, is the reason why they are poor.
We'd be in middle age if Western science had followed Islamic science pace.

Take USA, take any major European nation, ffs don't make me mention jews...all of them are dwarfing 1.5B people when it comes to scientific progress.
Apparently they have been doing some things better than Islamic states.
It's just how it is.

Yes, take the USA for instance, why are Muslims able to exist there and prosper very nicely. Lot's of them are doctors, scientists, inventors ;) soldiers fighting in the Middle East...and they all follow Islam
That's all I'm saying, I can see there are some fundie groups within Islam that keep people down. I don't think that form of Islam is going to take over any Western nations.

Google "science in Iran wiki".

Just as I thought. Not a single fundamental discovery in last several centuries, in math, physics, bio, chemistry...
Not a single science Nobel. It's depressive...

Now you google "jews science nobel".

Dear troll, you should definitly troll elsewhere, it s you that is wrong, as always, the guys are born in France in 1980 and 1982, their french ID cards were on display in papers, no go check said pics and stop polluting threads.

Here one for a start, that s the elder of the two :

A quick question what is you country and what is her achievements, and dont credit for things done by France or Germany...
Since you said that you country was at war in the 90s i guess that you re from the country of once renewed brand Iskra.???.

Your absolute and bigoted hatred is strong.

The all of Muslims are the enemy meme, and must be dealt with......

Yet another Anandtech P&N regular abusing this forum to promote agenda based generalised hatred and bigotry.

A bloody tool playing directly into what the managers' of such terrorism of the past days exactly desire in return. Ignorant and hateful bastards such Hugo Drax to incite hatred and promote vilification of all Muslims. To isolate and denigrate a targeted population all with the hopes of just minuscule deranged few will also take up arms in frustrating vengeance and perpetuate the extremism.

You stupid tool. You bloody Nazi. Fuck off.

Every time such incidents take place, all these people come out and spewing their hatred and frustrations onto the internet. Almost all of the news articles with user comments are full of hateful comments. These are the types of people that create divisions and conflicts among people. Their deep rooted fears and ignorance is on display across the internet.

If you look at any group in the history of the world, you will find violence and brutality associated with it. We humans have blood on our hands - all of us. Our hearts and minds are full of venom so lets not point fingers at anyone - only point the finger at yourself.

You mean thoses prizes that are awarded to jews by other jews..?.

Hiow is it that renewed jewish nobel prized Feynmann that was branded a genius didnt manage along with an other nobelised to renormalize some fundamentals physics laws despite years of research.??.
He and P. Matthews, another nobel were unsuccessfull but the thing was solved by a 25 year student in less than 6 months, of course this student did have to wait 25 years to get the nobel, and still, they flocked him with two jews whose credentials were obviously weak with one publishing two month later, systemlaticaly, what said real genius, Abdus SALAM, was publishing, that is, they nobelised two worthless scientists as a mean to downplay this exceptional brain merit.

Of course i wont talk of Einstein who was unable to master the tensor theory that was needed for "his" theory (that he plagiarised from Henri Poincarré), all computation were done by his woman, who was much more talented than him in maths, as well as by a jewish mathematician that helped him during all his works, it s no wonder that Einstein stated that "the secret to fame is to know how to hide your sources", terrible aknowledgment that he plagiarised said Poincarré.

We humans have blood on our hands - all of us. Our hearts and minds are full of venom so lets not point fingers at anyone - only point the finger at yourself.

On the principle i agree but practicaly speaking one who has never killed and is not supporting violence can hardly be said to have blood on the hands..

This is a poor cover for the fact that Iran has much much more scientifical output that your country currently, i guess by a factor of 5 to 10 at least, if not more but i keep those cautious figures as the minimum value, prove that the number of prize is total BS when it come to compare thoses two nations scientifical excellencies.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_and_technology_in_Iran

Check the reality rather than using flawed rules, do you think that Croatia is at Iranian level scientificaly speaking..??.

Einstein unable to master tensor theory.
Does this idiocy come from the same source claiming he generally did poorly in school and barely passed math in childhood? years?

Feinman, genius, but unable to singlehandedly do electroweak unification???
hahah dude you're crazy

This current debate here shows us why we have so many conflicts in this ugly world. This comparing ourselves to others is one of the biggest causes of that. It's like we have to prove ourselves to others in order to have some sort of self esteem. Who cares if someone else's little country has a bigger this or a higher that?

This was done by Pakistani Abdus Salam, when he produced the mathematical demonstration his own teacher at Cambridge did write that he felt as being his student student, Salam was 25 years old, Feynmann fame came from the fact that he completed some equations that were first written by Paul Adrien Dirac, also Salam was the firs at Cambridge that manage to get his maths and physics degree in a single year, Feynman did take two years for the same cursus since it was the normal time for said degrees.

I'll just say... for Iran's sake,
I hope you are not a scientist, and your field of expertise is a crop field

That s supremacism...although i find ridiculous that an austrian would brand himself a genius based on the fact that Mozart was austrian, it s amazing that people that are sometimes half brained are ridiculously taking credit for their eventual fellow citizen discoveries, that s usurpating the merit.

Of course i talked of Abdus Salam as a comparison, but only to negate a supremacist argument that pretended that muslims are not capable of valuable scientifical works.

It was Grossmann who emphasized the importance of a non-Euclidean geometry called Riemannian geometry (also elliptic geometry) to Einstein, which was a necessary step in the development of Einstein's general theory of relativity. Abraham Pais's book[1] on Einstein suggests that Grossmann mentored Einstein in tensor theory as well. Grossmann introduced Einstein to the absolute differential calculus, started by Christoffel[2] and fully developed by Ricci-Curbastro and Levi-Civita.[3] Grossmann facilitated Einstein's unique synthesis of mathematical and theoretical physics in what is still today considered the most elegant and powerful theory of gravity: the general theory of relativity.

So who is the idiot.?.

A real genius, the man that actualy discovered relativity and settled the mathematical equations and conditions :

Look given this post you obviously read the comment from Peon and now you are just being a fucking asshole wanting to win an argument. You obviously did not have the reading comprehension to read the comment from Peon and then go on and call my response to him as pure bullshit.
What are you going on about? I said something about inventions, you posted a link for a completely incorrect time period and now you're acting like I'm the asshole because you have the reading comprehension of a grade schooler. I understand if you're mad, but it should be at yourself. Stop spazzing out over your own shortcomings.
I can see there are some fundie groups within Islam that keep people down.
I'm glad to see you acknowledging that an interpretation of islam is motivating these terrorist events.

Speaking of culture, I got an email from amnesty international today. Evidently a guy was lashed 50 times outside of a mosque this morning for daring to insult islam. he has 950 lashes left. You see, a culture that does that sort of thing doesn't spend long studying textbooks. But some clowns here would say I'M the asshole for pointing out that a culture based around Islam is fucking backwards.

you are

for insisting that someone who gave a piece of mathematical framework for SR is a genius, and the one who came up with (both SR and) General is charlatan

Not a charlatan but he was hugely assisted, Poincarré on the other hand is the last of the unversalists, he was the last mathematician to have a leading edge knowledge in all branches of mathematics...

I originate from Algeria (and i m also french, vive la France!!), laws are not that wonderfull there but there s no lashing and any other punishments that are found in the country you re talking about, although homosexuality is not legal and is fined 20$, but we are far from the exemple you re quoting, should the Algerian people be assumed as being the kind you re quoting because they are also muslims..?.

maybe in Newton's time... Newton himself
but such thing is simply impossible in 20 century
body of math work has long become overwhelming for one person to carry it all day every day.

same like you dissing Einstein for not knowing tensor theory - why should he?
he took it when he needed it

It was at the end of the 19th/ early 20e century, he was the last mathematician that make discoveries in all fields of mathematics, as incredible as it sound given the level that was reached at the time.
From wiki :

He is often described as a polymath, and in mathematics as The Last Universalist by Eric Temple Bell,[3] since he excelled in all fields of the discipline as it existed during his lifetime.

You're referring to the case in Saudi Arabia: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...blogger-sentenced-to-1000-lashes-9967008.html

The Saudi penal system is known for being particularly barbaric in its "eye for an eye" approach to punishment: http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/389912/Barbaric-bloodlust-that-shames-our-Saudi-allies

It's not typical of other Muslim countries though, so not really as great supporter of your argument.

Also, while I certainly share Amnesty International's outrage at these cruel and unusual punishments...have you read the CIA torture report? I don't think textbooks feature very much in American culture either...

Serious question: how is this any different from so-called Christians trying to turn the US (and by extension) the rest of the world into a Dominionist-controlled nightmare?

I've never heard of "Dominionst"; I had to look it up.

Wiki says:

it exists primarily among non-mainstream Protestants in the United States

Consequently I don't think "so-called Christians" are doing anything of the sort and therefore wouldn't worry about it.

However, at the time of the Bush admin I do recall discussion of spreading democracy. Perhaps a nice idea, but one I now think not do-able and maybe even not possible.

So is Wahhabism is the sect of Islam you think is the cause of terrorism
It has been accused of that before
They seem to be the new kid on the block in Islam
Do you have any solution to Wahhabism?
