The Catholics, at their worst, did some pretty nasty things with their muscle, the Jesuit Order. Of course, they had islam to purge from the world, but they also were purging anything besides Catholicism - including a growing separation which is modern Protestantism.

What's the difference? Protestants have almost never used brute force /murder /torture to spread itself. Yeah, there's always a few nutjobs - including athiests - but there's never been the same scale of violence.

If protestants have murdered, Catholics have murdered hundreds of times more... islam, exponentially larger still.

...and no, the crusades were nowhere near the scale of islam's 1400-year killing spree. It was under a hundred years, was less than 1% of the territory size, and defensive in nature as they tried to reclaim cities/countries taken by muslims. I feel ill every time muslims and liberal apologists alike try to use the crusades as some sort of equivalence.

That wiki article is obviously in need of correction. I asked about inventions in the last century, and then "modern times", and you helpfully pointed to a time at least half a millennium ago according to that wiki. So either wiki is wrong or in the words of a wise man "Think of that the next time you can count to 10."

That would explain why I couldn't find it. Best I found was a similar quote from Walter Radermacher, the vice-president of the Germany's Federal Statistical Office, but it's been mis-quoted in a popular anti-islam video and being picked apart by apologists, damage control, experts, etc.

Of course, in my search, even the most cursory glance of "islam" plus "germany" yield a LOT of unrest. It's getting ugly all over the world... this pot is about ready to boil over as the civilized world gets fed up with islamic violence.

Because Islamic countries are unevolved compared to western nations. Case in point this thread. If we were in Saudi Arabia you could call the religious police on me and have me imprisoned. Evolution of a nation opens up avenues to technological as well as social advancement. France owned Algeria from about 1830 to 1962, they sure made that the algerian stayed illiterate, when this country gained idependance they had only 10 engineers and 90% illiteracy rate, that was France achievement, you think that s how much time is needed to bridge such a gap when you start with no professors and no intellectual elite at all as late as 1962..?..

It will take 20 years to have enough professors up to college but you wont get more, it will take another 30 years to get an acceptable levels in universities, let alone forming enough engineers without having to use thoses people as teachers.

Now a nation like Iran manged to bridge most of the gap, it s just you that is ignorant of their achievements since you are constantly relying on a false culture based on some prejudices, but why didnt you try to check this case.?..
