In a lot of these cases there is no criminal. It's just two people who get into an argument, and because of SYG one of them ends up dead.

Whoever initiates the use of force is the criminal because you are not allowed to use force against another person just because you have gotten into a argument. That is what the law states even without SYG.

Hard to convince people who live in a fantasy world where nobody acts irresponsibly that can directly threaten the lives of others.

Can you please point out one single case wherein SYG was used as the defense, SUCCESSFULLY, after nothing more than an "argument"?

You wrote "in a lot of these cases," so it shouldn't be difficult... right?

Yes, pulling a trigger in a fight definitely takes the manlier man. Only a wimp would resort to using their primitive fists.

Agreed.

Someone who makes the decision to shoot a gun at someone is not making an easy choice. It is a decision to possibly kill or permanently disable the person who you are shooting at.

Throwing a punch doesn't carry these same responsibilities historically. A bully/thug can use a punch to dish out just as much physical violence as they deem necessary to ensure that the other person complies to what they want due to the punch thrower's physical abilities. That is very cowardly, primitive, and not needed in modern society.

That is what is good about SYG. It makes throwing a punch now carry much more responsibility- it might end your life. I think that is a great deterrent to the kinds of people I knew growing up who seemed to get in a new bar fight every weekend.

Quite simply if you feel that it is EVER acceptable to throw a punch or use physical violence to make a point, I don't feel any remorse if your poor decision spirals out of control and it leads to the end of your life. If you are the kind of person that needs violence to make a point, maybe society doesn't need you in it.

Why progressives don't see through the bullshit? Your President, whom I voted for also, is just a continuation of Bush and you still refuse to accept that there are no parties anymore. They are just an illusion to keep you focused on special interests while the ruling elite do whatever they desire whenever they desire. You are being robbed every year through runaway taxation, and every minute of everyday through legalized theft (i.e. inflation), and yet here you are arguing about gun rights.

I find it rather comical.
