After years of resisting, I had finally decided to create a FB account for communication and other purposes. After just setting up my base account, and getting some privacy settings set the way I wanted, probably just 10mins into the process, I am asked for a picture of myself. I reluctantly uploaded a pic and was told that I would be notified when it was 'OK'd'.
A couple of days later I try to log in and am asked for a pic of an ID, which I supplied a redacted Driver's License. In the mean time I am asked to change my password which I do. While this has been going on my wife has seen my account and it goes between my REAL name and 'Facebook User', but I cannot login.
Then last night, I attempt to login in and low and behold I am able to login. My wife is already my friend and I can see her posts and I can see I have other messages and friend requests. I figure all is well and since it was ~0500 last night/this morning, I opt to just log off and figure I will continue to set up the account when I have some time later today. I have a bit of free time today and I go to login and I am again greeted with the 'Your account has had some strange usage' or something to that affect and I need to upload a pic again, so I upload the same redacted Driver's License, to which I am now locked out again.
Seriously, WTF? I am using my real name as verified by my real redacted Driver's License - what else do they want? My wife has had FB for years and has never even remotely seen what I am seeing. What am I doing that is incorrect when I am ATTEMPTING to create a REAL FB page for myself to communicate with friends? Has anybody else seen this? I do get emails when new messages appear but I do not even try to login so as to not make it seem like anything 'weird' is going on, which it is not, and am waiting to hear back from FB. Unfortunately this has really made me question why I am not being allowed to create a FB account and if it will be so unreliable for me for some unknown reason going into the future. I am using REAL, document information.
I am not being redirected or hacked as every time I go to the main FB page I go I check the security certificate on my machine and compare it to what comes up on my wife's machine, and the info is the same. Has anybody else had such a problem creating a FB account? Also, I made a dedicated email that has nothing in it, other than the FB stuff.
Any ideas?
