Why can't I create a FB account?

WTF seriously? Anybody else have this kind of trouble and if so, how did you get it rectified? There are no FB # numbers to call or emails to contact them. This time I used a gmail acct but my as the last time, my real cell number. I am trying to be legit but why? It would be so much easier to use burner accounts....This is becoming a real joke, if 95% of the people I talk to only talk via FB for the most part (with me being the exception and I always get the 'You gotta set up your FB....."), I wouldn't be wasting my f*cking time with this BS. F*ck you FB!!

That's the spirit! Why can't you talk via email or xmpp? They're both federated, and don't require proprietary software/services. Facebook is for suckers. It's spyware that people voluntarily use. Don't let "friends" drag you into trouble. If they can't change a little to suit your needs, they aren't friends at all.

Sadly so many people use it, it is THEIR main method of communication and sadly it has become the lowest common denominator for communication for groups of people - No more phone calls, No more txting, No more emailing, all FB. My feelings mirror yours and all it is is a giant data mining advertising clusterf*ck of a communication joke, but if I can't f*cking sign up, I can't sign up??

How is there is a show (Catfish) based off of people using bunk FB accounts screwing people over, or this epidemic you hear about w/ bullying all on FB leading to kids committing suicide, but I am using my REAL cell and pic and I can't sign up?? Or all the nigerian FB scammers? How the hell do they get through but a REAL person wanting to communicate with friends be denied? Maybe I should see if my VPN has a server in Nigeria, if it does, I bet I would be in, no problems at all.

Are you connecting from outside the US to US FB, or using a VPN or other cloaking?

They never asked me for any kind of ID, and I've ignored the suggestions to give them a photo. I didn't sign up until March 2016.

I am in the US and am using PIA from the 'US West' server, which so happens to be in AZ which is where I am at. Even if I connect in without a VPN, say through a cell phone, same issue - locked. I even clicked a link that FB sent me via a txt message (it was from the same # that sent me the code that worked so it was a real FB message) and I get taken to a page on their mobile site that says "You Can't Log in Right Now, We'll get in touch with you after we've reviewed your photo", and that's it, all it is is a photo, not an ID , which makes no sense to me because when they want an ID they ask for it specifically.

Ok, now something weird. Just for kicks, I tried logging into the account I made at the beginning of the month that started this thread, and now I can login to that account? WTF? Wonder how long it will be up because now I have 2 REAL accounts, guess I need to setup my phone w/ a Google phone number - do they even off that anymore? This is so f*cked up....
