Why are frametimes smoother on Nvidia than on AMD?

I was browsing google for frametime graphs to see whether I should buy the gtx 1080 or the 980 ti cause people kept saying the 1080 has massive frametime spikes that have never been fixed. I was never an expert on which gpu company has better frametime stability but I came across a consistent pattern that I'm sure you will notice too:

Though my dream of having no frametime spikes whatsoever will always be a dream, it seems the gtx 980 ti is the most stable card in the world. But that's not the point, the point is AMD cards are horrifically incompetent and AMD seems utterly indifferent to it, they only care about framerate averages not about the user experience.

I only see the R9 represented in those charts.
Also, there's little chance this thread isn't seen as inflammatory/trolling the way it's currently and broadly worded, so you may want to rephrase your post.

So are other AMD cards magically more stable than the R9? Don't all these cards have the same drivers and similar architectures?

Why not look at some results using Polaris or Vega GPUs and more recent drivers and judge for yourself?

Possibly, and no. I've never looked heavily into frametimes or tested that extensively myself, but if you are going to make such a broad statement the onus is on you to back it up with evidence.

Trying to fit a narrative? Each side has bad examples and good examples, especially if we're just going to pick out graphs from wherever and whenever.

The 1080 seems to be trash as many on youtube have pointed out. But that doesn't absolve AMD. I'm going with either the 1070 or the 980 ti.

Those graphs absolve AMD.
There should be an all encompassing average calculated to see who has more stable frames.
No "it depends on the game", "it depends of the driver", "it depends on the card", and no "it's too complicated for a simple answer".
Just one answer.

Your use of "magically" makes it clear what your intent here is.
I just like getting under people's skin.

OP, think twice about starting a Trolling thread next time.
