Why are Anandtech employees Apple Fanboys? (Anand in particular)

I'm just curious, because a lot of the articles mention that Anand in particular apparently uses all Apple stuff for his computer and phone.

What's the low-down? Just prefer Apple products or is there something that is better done on the Apple, or any other reason?

I'd probably get Apple shit too if I could afford it. Of course, I'd have a windows system as well for gaming. Idk what I'd use the Apple systems for really, but it'd be nice to have and figure out a use for.

Really for computers, if money is no option I see no reason NOT to get a Mac (aside from gaming perhaps). You can install windows if you would like and they're usually built incredibly solidly.

It uses the Mach Kernel, and the userspace is based of FreeBSD and I'm probably wrong.

Engadget are Apple fanboys, Anand is pretty much fair and unbiased. Engadget basically subtracts points on every non-Apple product review, simply because it's not an Apple product.

Anand pretty much reviews only Mac laptops and the iPhone (with the occasional odd Apple product review), and does so fairly in relation to other laptops and smart phones. I haven't really seen a Mac workstation or desktop review in ages on Anandtech, probably because they're outrageously priced compared to PCs. I'd think if Anand was an apple fanboy he'd review every Apple desktop or workstation too.

Doesn't anand use some self assembled PC's anyway? Keep in mind he travels a lot, so that means he has to use a laptop an awful lot.

Apple makes some of the best laptops around with amazing battery life, why shouldn't a hardware tech site review them (and even give positive reviews?) and possible write with them.

If I could afford it, I would so rather have a 13" macbook than my $250 Eee PC netbook.

Pretty much anything that isn't Windows is "based off Unix".

Also Leopard technically "is" UNIX as it met all the criteria to be certified thusly.

Then I answered that. Anand and the other reviewers are often traveling; so they're using a laptop or a phone. Apple laptops offer the best battery life vs. performance out there.

I hate the way the powerbooks look. Too square and unimaginative. The best laptops, imho, are Sony VAIOs.
