It's just what I've gathered from your posts here.
when you meet someone, do you honestly believe that you never "prejudge"?? omg, there are soo many levels on which we prejudge. color of skin is just one aspect of this prejudging. what about the way the person stands, the type of hairstyle, the clothes they wear, the car they drive. our subconscious takes all of these into consideration and comes out with a summary report. WHAT DO YOU THINK FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE??

Maybe you do man .. not everyone does. I judge people when I first see them based on how they treat me .... clothes? hair? What kind of superficial turdbag are you man?
Now if I have to "categorize" I'de have to say that Koreans are superficial, shallow, black people hating turdbags ... but I don't categorize, so I guess it's only you.

You're lying if you're saying you don't react at all different in your mind (if not outwardly) when a guy from the "hood" walks up to you all cool and stuff versus some business exec in a suit.

so what if i react differently in my mind. i have a right to my thoughts. it's only my actions that others can hold me accountable for.

you can talk all you want about how ideally we should view all human beings the same etc etc etc. but that's all bs when it comes down to it. all you can expect from people is that they act cordially to all they meet.

Just curious.

For real. I'm me first, of course. I've never seemed to fit into any stereotype.

I know that black and korean people hate each other.
Watch any movie where there is a convenience store in the ghetto. Black man will try to buy something and the korean shopowner will give him sh!t. :p

I was once robbed by five black guys .. you know what... I'm still not afraid of black people .. cause black people didn't rob me, some five punk asses with no respect did. I categorize people, sure ...

*************** | Assholes | Bigots | Friends | Enemies | Strangers | Oldsters | Sexy Ladies
PlatGold ----------*----------------*-------------------------*----------------*--------------------------------------
femmecobalt -----*----------------*-------------------------*----------------*--------------------------------------
robberdudes -------*------------------------------------------*----------------*--------------------------------------
red dawn ----------------------------------------------------------------------*------------*--------------------------

etc

Whereas before this thread started you would have just been strangers ... you get it? I don't categorize based on race because it doesn't mean anything. I hate bigots of all colors .. that includes black people that think I owe them something cause of white bigots like the ones in this thread.

And Platinum Gold you said something about bigotry being what you do, not what you say .. you are not only a bigot, but an idiot as well. This means that if I run around saying sh!t like .... "Black people are assholes, they hate all white people and they're poor" .. wouldn't make me a bigot .. things are much more subtle than you make them out to be .. and your attitude, even though not brazenly bigoted, still screams bigot to me.

I don't care that you don't care .. I was outlining a point, not trying to make you cry .. althought I'm sure that would be pretty easy too.

Disagree all you want but I seriously doubt any of you enjoy the experience of ATOT as much as I do.. the way it was meant to be enjoyed:)

Demographic marginalization..Asians are taking over their historical population centers and business ie.south central LA and San Francisco have seen significant movement in that direction. Change is interminable...

From my epxereince... The reason I feel Afro- Americans are more races then any other group is b/c they're always blaming everything on race. It's not all Afro-Americans, but majority that I've encountered.
"It's b/c you're white that's why you got it."
"If I was white, I could do that."
"Damn chinks stole my job."
Etc. etc.

Given that a lot of sh*t has happen to them in America. "SLAVERY." They got to realize, slavery doesn't happen to only black people. It's happens to every race all over the world for thousands of years.

All I have to say is that anything that can happen to anyone. most Afro-American would blame it on race. Almost never the fact that maybe, just maybe they didn't work hard enough to get it or didn't do the job well enough to keep it.

Again, this doesn't go for all Afro-Americans.

That's exactly why people are saying PlatinumGold is being a bigot, and I would agree. He's blaming something totally unrelated on race.

Some guy acts like an assh0le during an accident with his wife, and he posts a thread about how African Americans are intolerant because of it. From what he said, the guy didn't mention anything about race, just acted like an dick. He's the one claiming that if a couple of "brothers" would have been involved it would have been smoothed over. How the f*ck does he know, other tham making his own ignorant generalizations? He's the one that claims the guy acted this way because of race. He's blaming this guy's actions on his race without any cause or rationale. He even admitted the story was pointless in relation to the whole "thesis" of his post (or the title at least).

So, from now on, I'll just assume that all Asian Americans are ignorant racist douchebags because of PlatinumGold's actions and statements. Fair enough. :p

My thoughs (not that anyone cares), but to try and salvage this thread from a flamefest.

PlatinumGold, thats being a bigot as KaBudokan pointed out.

Generalization, prejudgement, stereotyping. Give me a fsckin break people, what makes you think you are all great people that don't do this. When I see a Hispanic male wearing a wife beater and ragged jeans. I think druggie/gangster. When I see an Asian male driving an Acura Integra with spiky hair. I think ricer and smokes. When I see a Blonde White female that has valley talk. I think shes stupid. When I see a tall black female, I think loud and abonoxious. If I see an Asian with dyed long hair, I think FOB. WHO THE HELL DOESN'T?! Oh wait, obviously some of you dont because shoot, you guys never stereotype at all and don't get any first thoughts from what people are wearing or anything. Nope, no siree..
rolleye.gif
Oh yeah and guess what? You ever wonder where stereotypes come from... BECAUSE THEY ARE OFTEN TRUE. It's not realistically you expect EVERYONE to follow that stereotype, but realistically you expect MOST to though.

And WTF is this "oh you're not black or you're not poor so you can't say anything since you have no credibility or experience"?! WTF?! Riiiiiight yeahhhh. With that type of thinking our system of government would be useless. Yes, only poor black people can make decisions and comments regarding poor black people. Only rich white people can make decisions and comments in regard to rich white people. Yeahhhh, that would work.

Uhhh, and regards to the "Why say Asian-American" and not Asian or American. You just liek to be difficult huh? What if you're parents are traveling and are from say China, and they are temporarliy in the U.S. for vacation for the time being and have a child. What? So are you American? Or are you Chinese? Lets not be anal here now.

And finally. I'm a college student. My family is upper-middle class. I'm and Aisan American. So I guess, I can add nothing to this discussion since I dont' qualify huh.
