I dont get why everyone knocks New Jersey. I was born and raised there. I grew up in a town called Mount Laurel (right next to Moorestown - voted top place in America to live). The area around me is mostly large homes, malls, a few golf courses and that is it. Where do people get the idea it is dirty? Sure the parts that the turnpike runs thru isnt all great, but why build nice stuff near a highway?

I now live in Maryland, and to those from MD who knock NJ - I got news for you, I drive along I95 from Columbia to Essex every day and that strech of 95 is no prize. Also, it smells pretty bad. On the topic of highways, Maryland drivers seem to generally be terrible, but that is off the topic.

And about the gas thing, gas is cheaper in NJ and someone pumps it for me. But people are right to make fun, I sure do love paying more for less service.

I feel better now, that is all.

I'm not even reading your OP. Just going on the title, I must remind you that NJ is dogsh!t. Worst designed highway system in the world. Dumbest cops ever. It smells. Wildwood is retarded.... need I say more?

<<< PA resident.

Now that I have read your OP:

MD is the sh!t. How much time have you spent on the deserted islands on the bay?:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

PA roads are terrible. Drivers are idiots. And how does Wildwood being retared have to do w/ anything?

Oh, and my town and Moorestown is good enough for most of the Eagles, so it's good enough for me :)

When the best thing you have going for you is outright retarded, it says something.

I don't mind our roads being terrible when our local cops arent allowed to use radar to catch speeders.

Wildwood is crap!

Ocean City, Avalon, and Stone Harbor are great. Also, they are nicer beaches than the ones you DON'T have in PA.

"NJ is an intellectual and cultural wasteland," said a girl I worked with in Ewing, NJ at ETS. She was born in NJ.

I was born in Denville, in North Jersey and I loved it there. I was never much of a shore person in all my youth, but you can't go wrong with the board walks.

I hate to say it but all states have their pro's and cons. I guess Jersey bashing is easy for some b/c of their own inadequencies either with themselves or with their state.

Jealousy, since most that post hate couldn't afford to live there. Especially trashy PA residents.

When my friends and I recently visited atlantic city, apon entering jersey we noticed an odd smell, that only grew stronger the deeper into jersey we got. We had to pull over we were laughign so hard. We had always thought people were joking when they said the state smelled awful. Also atlantic city was fun, alright, but not good for more than like a night. all the casinos are exactly identical. So, your state smells poorly, your main attraction is repetitive and good for only a night, and the highway system was awwwwful

I have no solid opinion on NJ. I guess I give it a meh. I'd rather live in the midwest. It seems to built up.

Everywhere you go, you're always going to find some people bitching about New Jersey.

Its the exact same thing whenever someone brings up nausea and discentary. :p

I have visited New Jersey a few times - I like the Red Bank/Linncroft area (Jay and Bob's Secret Stash!). The only thing I really dislike is the population density - too many people makes for way inflated housing prices and constant traffic everywhere. Having to make three right turns instead of a left is kind of weird - and toll highways you can't avoid kind of suck (but are fine to drive on). The area just south of the Newark airport is foul. I find the Jersey accent (and 80s hair) on a girl funny for short periods - longer would drive me nuts.
