I already installed JB. I am new to all this root/unlock/roms stuff so I am trying to learn.

Google has the factory images available on their website. At worst you can always factory restore. https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

In other related to Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean news, Google has removed the GNex for purchase from the Play Store to comply with the judge order. :(. Google is supposed to push out the software patch to remove the unified search from the phone. I will definitely decline that update as it will basically cripple the phone. If I have to, I will install custom rom to keep the unified search function. FU Apple.

Using ROM Manager, I tried to initiate a backup. It booted into recovery/fastboot (?) and gave an error message about not being able to find or mount the sdcard partition. I then used the menu to select backup and it looked like that worked. Is this normal?

Same thing happened to me. Its a bug I guess

I can't hear the voice using Google Now. How do I enable it?

If it's enabled just say Google. You can also tap the microphone icon on the upper left

So today I go into Google now and the box that used to say Search or Say Google just says search. I can't just say Google anymore. Anyone having this issue?

I've seen quite a few reports of it on Rootzwiki as well. Can't figure it out.

Voice in google now works for me. Not sure what I did before.
Android has come a long way. It's very polished and has a very good interface/experience.
I'm glad that Google thinks out of the box on features. It's the one thing that makes it so different from the other vendors.

Did you go into Google now, scroll all the way to the bottom, hit the menu button, go to settings -> voice -> enable google hot word (something like that) ?

Yea did that a few times and it didn't turn back on. Later I rebooted the phone, it was back. Weird. What sucks is if I don't reboot the phone daily, it disappears again. I don't get it.

Anyone moving to v8 for Vanirbean? It seems to be kind of hit or miss for folks.

On Vicious V3 and its great. I dont get random reboots after tethering anymore like I did with AOKP. Battery life went for 12+ hours one day with average 4G use. Although with heavy 4G use it drains fast like ICS did.

I'm so tempted to get a Galaxy Nexus, but the poor 4G battery life ruins it for me. The screen, lack of external storage, and terrible camera just make me wait and hope that there are better options this year.

Ah man so sorry to hear. What about the Nokia Lumia? Can you tell us why you don't like that phone either?

Has anyone been able to get Google Now to display cards about travel on upcoming trips? What I mean is I've seen demos where Google Now will display a card saying "travel to dentist appointment, medium traffic" and show you navigation, etc? I am very methodical about setting proper addresses for the location of my meetings/events because I am hoping Now will show me the cards but it hasn't so far.

What's interesting is the cards it does show me related to travel are things I searched for (as a test) but don't really want to go to. For example, I would say "Show me the nearest gas station." Then a few hours later, I see a new card pop up and it's navigation/directions to the gas station. What's strange is even if I wanted to go there, I would have activated navigation at the time of search. Why would I want active traffic conditions and navigation an hour later?
