Who's jazzed about Fallout 3?

I can't wait for this. I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk/speculation what the final game will be like. Bethesda has kept a pretty tight seal on info about this one leaking out.

I have a PS3 but decided to go with the PC version because of the upgradable/downloadable content, but I begin to wonder how well my PC will run it, because it's getting a bit long in the tooth. I have a E6600@2.88GHz (can probably get it faster), 4Gb, and 8800GT SLI.

Considering it doesn't intend to follow in the footsteps of the Fallout series at all, im gonna go with no one.

I'm looking forward to it. I admit I'm on the fence concerning the FPS/TPS view in the game. But they will still allow you to use action points in a battle. Plus, I'll admit it, I'm a Fallout addict. I'll buy this one just like I have every other game.

Pretty "jazzed". Was sold by the trailer.

I loved the original Fallouts, but it's been so long that I'm willing to give the new dev some leeway.

I played the original but not the second. I liked the way the E3 demo footage looked too so I already put my preorder in down at CircuitCity, which gave a free $10 GC. $39. Hard to beat that.

I'm definitely excited about it. It looks like Bethesda is fixing a lot of the mistakes they made in Oblivion and making things less level scaled, etc. Which is definitely in the Fallout spirit. I'll read some reviews, though, just in case. I'm not going to jump the gun.

Reviewing it, can't wait ... It's said to be 20 hours of gameplay though, was expecting longer, but with 500 diff endings, so lots of replay value ...

Don't think your 8800GT SLI will have any problem running it, as long as it scales well on SLI/CF.

According to the Wiki page they got some solid voice actors this time around too, like Liam Neeson in the staring role.

Also, unlike Oblivion I like the fact you can switch back and forth between turned based or real time battle.

i find it hard to get excited about games any more. most game that are hyped are a huge disappointment.

although I do have to say I am kind of excited about Warhammer Online. Sounds pretty damn cool.

I don't really care for MMORPGs, they just suck your time and wallet dry.

I like games like Oblivion and Fallout 3, which exist in a closed universe, which have a set ending. At least you know what you're getting and you don't have to spend your life getting there.

Meh. While to be honest, a well done fallout FPSRPG would be tops in my book, I have yet to see evidence that Bethesda can do anything well, beyond scenic vista. They're like the crytek of rpgs.

I want to be "jazzed" up for this game but I am just not feeling it. I dunno, maybe if it wasn't called Fallout that would help, but I dunno still.

The trailer was a big load of 'meh'. It'll take pages of threads saying it is the greatest thing ever for me to buy this game.

I'm going to buy it, but I'm definitely not "jazzed" about it though. More like praying it doesn't suck.

Am I looking forward to Oblivion with guns? Hells yeah!!!

Well said. I'm not going into it with any expectation of continuing the Fallout tradition.

I'm still really excited for it but ready for disappointment.

Do you realize that if you buy one game every 3 months, you're still spending more money than you would have if you were paying for an MMO ($50-$60 over 3 months vs $15/month).

Even if you buy one cheap game per month at $20, that still costs more than any MMO subscription 😉

For what you get, MMOs are actually a pretty slick deal. I find it troubling that so many people have financial concerns regarding MMOs. I don't play them because they require too much of a time commitment, which is a far more legitimate reason 😛

It's hard to get excited about any game that may have been consolized. I would NOT buy it immediately. I suggest waiting to hear what Fallout I and II fans think about the PC version of the game. Remember--the game company's motivation for resurrecting such an old game and for making a sequel is money and not to make a high quality game that would appeal to intelligent people. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's a graphics-fest with little depth, but hey, that might please the console players.

After doing some research, I believe Bethesda wanted to make Oblivion with guns, but since they spent millions on the Fallout brand name, they figured they'd just slap a blue Vault suit on the main character and call it Fallout 3. They're relying on the fond memories of oldschool gamers to sell this soulless piece of garbage... I'm actually a little personally insulted by the whole affair.

Where did you play your advance copy?

The reason I'm less than stoked is because I don't want to get lost in another 80 hour RPG. Plus it will be competing with GTA4 for my time.
