If anyone here hasn't played Fallout 1 and/or 2, please do so before buying Fallout 3.

The thought of Oblivion with guns seems really cool. IMO, PC first person sword fighting still doesn't really work, but only slightly less than PC first person spell casting. Nothing more fun than trying to hit something with lightning fast reflexes with a fireball that moves about as fast as a snail. That aside, Oblivion was still pretty fun for a while. So, I'm thinking that Oblivion with FPS style combat sounds pretty damn attractive.

I'm not sure I quite get this... Everyone has said that Fallout 3 isn't anywhere close to the same game as FO/FO2. FO3 looks like it is directed to a different audience than FO/FO2, which admittedly does kind of suck for fans of the original games.

They just changed the name of morphine to something else. That's fine. The original Fallout didn't have any real-world drugs in it, either, so I don't know why they had morphine in Fallout 3 in the first place.

I definately remember there being drugs/pills. Anyone remember what their name was?

Do you realize that if you buy one game every 3 months, you're still spending more money than you would have if you were paying for an MMO ($50-$60 over 3 months vs $15/month).
Even if you buy one cheap game per month at $20, that still costs more than any MMO subscription![]()
For what you get, MMOs are actually a pretty slick deal. I find it troubling that so many people have financial concerns regarding MMOs. I don't play them because they require too much of a time commitment, which is a far more legitimate reason![]()
