Who's interested in the new Mustang SUV?

Are there any actual changes or are they just jacking up the prices several thousand because they can?
All automakers have been jacking up prices furiously, particularly on BEVs. Traditional automakers do make minor changes from model year to model year.

Lithium prices are going sky high. Other rare earths are doing the same. Limited resources aren't cheap. Battery formulations have to change, or the EV future is doomed.

Agreed but what is a person interested in EV's going to do about that? Not much they can do IMO. It's up to the manufacturers to invest in other battery tech but right now all we have is Li-ion as end consumers. Solid state seems to be promising but Lithium is used in them to but the longevity seems to be much better among other things.

Anyway, as far as major changes go certain packages like the tech/comfort are rolled into the trim level instead of being optional. I linked to the order guide for MY23 if anyone wants to see all the changes going into 2023.

Well it's done. Now for the long wait.

Confirmation email sent from Ford for a MY23 Mustang Mach-E Performance Edition! HELL YEAH!!

DORA pic pretty self explanatory we've all seen this before. Looks the same as when I ordered the Maverick.

Wait what? Your car has ActiveX that MS deprecated years ago?

Conglats on the shiny new ride nonetheless.
Haha lets hope not or at the very least lets hope it holds up better. Anyway, thanks I can't wait for it to arrive but I know I have a loooong wait ahead of me. I ordered a Maverick back in June of '21 and didn't receive it until January of '22 so I'm prepared.

I've gotta say, Ford has been knocking it out of the park lately...Mach-E, Bronco, Maverick, etc.

You're gonna love that Mach-E. I did not want to let mine go, but was forced to. Really an excellent car, congratulations.

Thanks! I can't wait to get it and I hope you are right about going to love it. This will be my first EV so I'm a little nervouse but at the same time really excited.🙂

Scheduling for MY23 is suppose to start next week and I can't wait!

I assume you are are parking and charging in a garage? In the Midwest your biggest disappointment is going to be cold weather range loss. If you can pre-condition in the garage you can eliminate a lot of that.

Yep, I plan on installing a 50A charger in my two stall insulated garage which never gets below freezing. The garage does have a 80K btu NG forced air heater as well for those really cold nights here in Central Illinois but I don't anticipate needing to use it.

I know this is going to be hard for you to believe but I only drive around 4K-5K miles a year and none of those are long trips just around town so even in colder weather the lower range shouldn't be a problem.(Bbhaag knocks on wood at that statement haha)

Man... When I was in Brimfield I was logging almost 20k a year. It was like 50 miles a day. An EV would have been glorious.

Yeah I think we've talked about his before. I'm on the east side of Peoria in Washington which isn't to far from Brimfield. What the hell were you doing in Brimfield that required a 50 mile commute? Cat I'm assuming because that is the go to in this area.

Where you at now?

I was out by the I-74 & rt150 interchange. Had to drive down to near Peoria riverfront for daycare drop off of one kid. Then hoof it up to Rt91 for work. Back down to river front for pickup then all the way back to Brimfield to pick up the other kid.

Was about 25 miles each way.

I'm out in Portland,Or now. Kids can walk to school and we bike commute.

Got my Scheduled For Production email yesterday which seems crazy to me. I waited four months to get this email for my Maverick and less than a month to get it for the Mach-E.

IDK, I don't think mustang + SUV makes much sense myself.
I have an educated suspicion that the Mustang in its longer history took corners in a certain way, or that the ass side of the car drifted a bit more than your Japanese Z cars -- which could be turned to a cornering advantage.

It's possible that Mustang enthusiasts haven't sampled a wide-enough range of modern cars. But those that I think about most are 30-year-old CIVIC models, and certain CIVICs hence into the present.

Nor is the design similar to a Civic exclusive to my thinking. It has been shaped equally by driving a 27-year-old Isuzu Trooper. While late model vehicles like a Toyota HighLander or 4Runner may show significant changes over the heavier 1995 SUV, they handle a certain way, and the Trooper is possibly more maneuverable than some of the same year, era and class (here call it mid-size SUV).

So my interest in the Mach-E derives equally according to the handling of all three vehicles or their aspects.

The fact that my Trooper doesn't have a muscle-car's engine probably draws from its manufacturer's history: Isuzu was "in trucks" before, during and after their SUV and passenger-car offerings.

So what will it be from the Fo-ord Mach-E?

Got my window sticker today and it looks like my MME GTPE will go into production later next week. Exciting to say the least but the anticipation is killing me. haha
23MY production is going smooth so far but the guys on the Mach-E forum I hang out on are bitching about shipping times....especially to the west coast. Mid-West times are a little more consistent so maybe I'll get mine before the end of the???

Anyway, here's a pic of the sticker!

Still can't get over how much these have gone up in costs. Probably will just end up buying out my Options plan at the end of 4 years and figuring out if I can make more reselling it.

Premium, AWD Extended ranges are sort of the unicorn model.

Yeah that is true but I did go all out when I ordered a GT PE. GT/GT Performance Editions were never cheap couple that with the increased costs of doing business and it's no surprise Ford had to increase the price.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I'm excited to take possession of it when it arrives and hey if you still got family in the area maybe when you come back we can meet up sometime to hang out and take our Stangs for a drive. Going for a spin down Grand View Drive then heading up 29 toward Chillicothe with our Mach-Es sounds like fun.🙂
