A Dodge Durango Hellcat or even a Tesla Model X Plaid SUV would destroy a every Mustang in a drag race.

Mustang level of performance?
Which Mustang? The Turbo? The old 3.7 V6? The regular GT? The GT500?

I think that the GT500 could more than hold it's own in a drag race with a Hellcat Durango.

To answer your question, more performance is always better. Maybe if the top end Mach E was more like this prototype, I'd actually like it :)

Come on Ford, we know that you can make an electric car that's actually fast. This video is proof! DO IT!

They may not have made a fast car but they certainly made a quick car.
Would enjoy watching you go toe to toe with 66K Mach-e GT performance vs a 76K GT500.
It would probably track with reports where the Mach-e beats you at the launch and dominates up until 70mph where it starts to taper off.
Theories are its software related but even if its hardware related, it appears that the Mach-e GTPE is the quicker street car and the GT500 is the faster track car.

What would you tell the person that just wants a quick street car and will never do a dragstrip or a track?
Get the car with the 1/4 mile time that you can never demonstrate on the street or get the car that will be quicker on your daily drive?

Traded in my First Edition for a GT a few weeks ago. Much, much faster. Better looking too, imo. Black grill with glowing pony in it. Front and rear black diffuser, front side vents, sport x seats, few other small things.

Overall it's almost identical, mostly cosmetic changes. Just a lot faster. Front tires try to come off the ground when taking off, you can feel the steering going left and right because the front raises. Gives my wife a sickening feeling in her stomach.

New rims come in Thursday, 20" concave with a big off set. Don't care about range so much, drive in a small bubble most of the time. But driving to the beach next week, so see how that goes.

Still really like the car, I am very happy with it. I can see why it's gotten so much praise. 20210914_131339.jpg20210914_131358.jpg20210914_131347.jpg

The sales have decreased rapidly. This sells about half of February's numbers.

Article

I guess the wow factor for Ford fans has been fulfilled. Now, everybody else is not digging it too much.

Ford has 3,005 dealerships in the us of a. It sold ~1,800 mach-e in August.

In comparison, Tesla Model Y sold in 42,800 in Q2, 2021.

Again, not producting any batteries is and will be the limititng factor for any meaningful EV production by non Tesla manufacturers. Ask GM and their Bolt.

Ford continues to sell what people want, a formula that Tesla apparently has yet to figure out given their blistering rise to….2% market share, allowing them to finally surpass Mazda. But it’s not too surprising that Tesla’s global market share has been slipping for Q2 as more competition comes on the market. Ford sold 118,000+ vehicles in August. 440,000+ in Q2, Tesla is around 75,000. Ford is doing a fine job pushing the vehicle where EVs actually have a high demand. Most of the manufacturing capacity goes to Europe where there is higher demand for EVs, while not sacrificing where the market demand actually is.

Could simply be a production constraint. They have less stock than the previous month when they were selling better.

Ford said that Mach E production has slowed due to the chip shortage and that orders would be delayed.

How do you find the 50-80 mph times? I've seen good ~1.9 sec 50-70 times for the GT, but I'm curious if it can still pull hard for 50-80. When passing on two lane roads I frequently find myself approaching 80 mph, particularly if the jackass I'm passing decides to race me.

It's just a feel for me. Can't down shift and rev out rpm's like my old Maserati I traded it in for. Or any other car like it. I have not seen passing times, but also haven't looked for them.

The passing seems slower to me personally for the GT, and on a road home I know the speed I can get to in my old car, and the GT is a bit slower.

BUT, I love the car and just got new wheels and tires before our 10 hour beach drive this Sunday.

9" up from, 10.5" in the back. Concave, with a half inch spacer and +45 in back and +38 in front.

I still want a Grabber Blue GT. The black grill just looks so much better than the lower trims. That said, I've put over 3000 miles on ours since July and finally got my Level 2 charger installed. Man what a game changer that is. Still love driving this thing. :)

The electric Mustang looks cool, and I do love EVs, but wow is it super hard for me to take car advice from anyone who bought a Maserati new. Just sayin.

It's still smarter than buying a used Maserati, right? At least he got to enjoy the car for a year or two before it spends the rest of it's life in a European auto shop racking up repair bills.

The Maserati actually never gave me any problems, ever. Just expensive with simple maintenance. Belts, filters, etc. I do miss it, miss the sound and comfort of it. But the Mach-E is also very enjoyable to ride.

Speaking of life in the shop, Land Rovers are notorious for this. We've had her Defender for a year this month, no issues so far. One oil change. Ended up driving it to the beach instead as it ended up being over 700 miles and I didn't want to stop too much. Added wheel flares, roof rack, side steps, rear tire cover painted, added front and rear mud flaps, and painted the front and back bumper gloss black to match. Finally how we wanted it. Few small things inside. Original was gray and looked dumb. 700+ miles wasn't so bad on the way down with football playing live, passed time very fast. Even with a 4 year old in the back.

Thumb slipped when painting over my license plate, didn't notice till after I saved it. 20211009_141558.jpg20211009_181249.jpg

Is reliability really that important when you still lost ~$100k in depreciation in roughly 3 years of ownership?

BTW, I am still stunned that someone justified owning a Maserati by bragging that they also own a Land Rover. WTF.

I own a 2021 Range Rover Sport. So far it has been flawless and I absolutely love it.

I really want to buy the new Ford Bronco but may end up with a Land Rover Defender.

You don’t buy a Maserati, you lease it. They depreciate horribly and are expensive to own, especially out of warranty. No way I would buy a used Maserati.

I am not sure why Land Rover chose BMW again as their engine supplier for the new Range Rover. Traditionally that has been a bad thing for Land Rover.

check out the TFL truck guys, they ended up keeping the 3rd truck delivered due to issues with the first 2 defenders they were delivered.

I'm really excited about the new Bronco. In photos, it's a bit of a bland design, but in person, it has a lot of presence! The inside feels super awesomely macho too haha. The front IRS makes it a piece of cake to drive, no Jeep death wobble on the highway, and both the 2-door & 4-door drive great! I'm curious to see what the final specs on the Bronco Raptor are. Plus they've got the Everglades model, which has a factory snorkel & winch, and there's rumor that a two-tone Heritage model in the works with vintage-inspired wheels (possibly SEMA). The modularity is awesome for personalization & customization as well! I really like what RTR did with theirs:

I have driven the new Bronco and it is indeed awesome. I really like pretty much everything about it. I reserved a new Bronco Wildtrak which comes with the Sasquatch package.

I didn't lose 100k in depreciation in 3 years. Facts matter when trying to belittle someone. I bought it used, and paid it off in 2 years.

The LR was bought new, and its what we wanted. Get over it.

I'm not trying to belittle you, tell you how to spend your spend your money, or even sidetrack this thread. I just sometimes speak up when people start bragging about something that's actually cringeworthy.
