No monthly fees to speak of, single player but it will populate your universe with other players creatures I believe.

And if its anything like Sims as far as xpac's go, the sky's the limit with this game. I can see them releasing expansion packs like (aquatic or flight environments) every few months, or premium downloadable content.

The news stories were 250,000 creatures in the first 24 hours. This morning's news had the count up to 425,000.

I picked this up on Friday and made a few creatures. Pretty interesting setup and it definitely fueled my intrigue for the full game. Too bad we can't really do anything else right now, two months seems like a long time to wait, especially since it feels as if I've been waiting for this game for years now.

This was an interesting idea, releasing this thing. Pretty good way to keep interest up before the game is actually released.

This was a great idea. Whoever came up with this deserves a raise.

Squeeze 10 extra dollars out of the game

Have the general populace do the work of populating the planets so that during release there will be a full universe

Spread the word about spore (also draws in female audience as my wife hates games but loves the character creation section of any game I play)

Genius...makes me believe that this game will live up to all the hype
 
got it sat. It is really amazing what you can do. I think my wife and I have about 15 guys made so far.

Only thing I wish was added was a spray paint type thing where you could color your guy anyway you wanted. And add patterns and such.

I'm really thinking about getting the full version now. I know I'm getting Spore when it comes out so I may just do the full version now +spore for $55. so $5 off.
 
I was on vacation, so I just got the game today. I am impressed with the parts that were excluded from the trial version and with the creator's flexibility. There are a few things missings (custom paint and refined fat distribution), but I am happy nonetheless.

That $5 is a warrantee, not a fee. You can remove it from the order.
 
Its pretty fun to play around with. Bought it at target and the box came with a 5 dollar off coupon for the full game when it comes out so if I decide to get that then it was only a 5 dollar demo....

I downloaded the demo version last night. My daughter sat on my lap and she picked pieces while I attached them to the monster... she had a blast, so that made the download at least worthwhile. 🙂
 
I really like this. It's fun to try and twist and turn the blob into the right form. The system is quite simple but pretty darn powerful if you zoom in and really fiddle. As others have said, a few features seem to be missing, such as custom paint and other ways to tweak your beast. But with patience, almost anything is possible. And yes, the lynch tree is possible.

I'll post again when I've begun to get better. I only have one creature and it sucks.
