damn, how long does it take to upload to youtube? i thought my video was pretty short but its taking like 30 minutes to upload.
 
downloaded it from ea's site. i'm a sucker because i paid $5 more to avoid going to the store and getting a copy due to their dumb downloading 'fee'

If you download it now, does it activate at midnight or can you start creating right away?

Well the thread has them linked in youtube, look pretty authentic, but I haven't messed with the game myself.
 
Good points from the slashdot article

* the demo and the paying versions phone home and have SecuROM
* what you are doing by creating all those creatures is populating the world before the final version comes out
* you are basicly paying for working for EA

No, you have to download the full version of the creator and install it.
 
There are 100+ penis creatures already on youtube and counting. Did the devs not realize that people would be making the most disgusting creature ever?

I'm glad I wasn't drinking my tea at the time, else I'd spew it all over the screen. I will pay $10 for this. Laughter is the best medicine.

i had to uninstall the trial version completely before my downloaded copy from ea would work.
 
After watching a few more spore demo vids on youtube, I just realized that the penis monsters are going to have to mate, and that there actually is a mating gesture for each creature. It's typically PG rated, but given the nature of the beast...

I suggest Search youtube for Spore and look at the highest hit movie It should be the demo at E3 with will wright (hopefully not a giant penismonster)

It is basically a Huge universe populated by hundreds upon thousands (maybe even millions) of player made creations. Which we are basically creating for them now, 3 months in advance.

The premise of the game which is broken down in to many parts is that you start in the tad pole phase of the game (like packman or the fishtank games) is to eat food and get bigger, the food you get is worth evolution points and you can eventually evolve into a nomadic state which then goes tribal and then civilization and then space.

Its really going to be groundbreaking and after seeing how intuitive this creator is, I think its going to live up the the hype. Especially since the game has supposed to have come out like 4 years ago..

I've had this pre-ordered for about 3 years.
