Confession time, I managed to get one of those monitors from Buy.com it was 21 inches, so heavy the delivery guy got a hernia & the screen was glorious. I think it was priced at &149? I had my CC out on the table & ordered so fast!

I used to hangout at AGN3D & at Russ’s forum then came over here
 
I just get wows and some blank stares when I tell kids that I build my own computers still. Then I show them an 8-Track tape. They shake their head. I've noticed a lot of retirement threads here lately...lol

I gravitated over from Sharky's Machine and AGN3D to here....just as the WMC's got their own sub-forum...Hot Deals. Sorta drifted out of here a couple of times since then. Keep forgetting password to old nicks, incl. one that wouldn't function any longer after an upgrade because it had an apostrophe in it, so start over.



Left a second time for a bit...when came back, name wouldn't function. Had an apostrophe in it.
 
Certainly not the longest but it seems longer than some of you. I spent most of my first several years here in the Dist. Computing forum though & not so much in the others.
 
I still have the remote control car I got from Hot Deals back then. It's been so long I've since moved to another state, cranked out and raised couple kids with two in college, and retirement is at the horizon. Almost a lifetime it seems. Got lots older but none the wiser.

They switched from the BBS to Fusetalk Forums in October of 1999. I think October 10th. Is it is possible you had an account with the old system, then didn't re-register again until later.

I've been on these forums for well more than half my life. Crazy to think about.
