if one of the highjackers visited this site regularly would you be saying the same thing? "anandtechers did attack us. anandtech didn't attack us, but anandtechers clearly attacked us." oreilly is a fool just looking for publicity

If the hijackers were yelling "ANAND IS GREAT", posted about how they were blowing up the towers because of some perceived slight against anandtech, and 50%+ of the anandtech community were cheering/praising their actions, then yes I would said "anandtechers attacked us". Seriously, how complicated is this?

Its only complicated to stupid people, those being intentionally dishonest because they sympathize with the enemies of the "Great Satan" or those who are so self-deluded with their own political PC view points they can't see or refuse to see the point being made with the factual description of the 9/11 hijackers and the background of their religious ideology which they used justify to kill 3,000 people.

A nation that cannot stomach the simple truth of the statement, that Muslims attacked us on September 11th, is NOT a nation that deserves to have a military. There are too many people in this nation who compromise the thoughts and reasoning behind our actions overseas.

This goes along with Bush's logical fallacy of nation building. Our soldiers do not deserve to die to give rise to two hostile Islamic regimes in foreign countries.

It's amazing to see people ignore the identity which binds our killers. Not just ignoring it, but to become absolutely outraged over the mere thought of its existence. As if the writing isn't already written in blood.

How many Christians have committed mass murder, in the name of Christianity, while shouting "GOD IS GREAT" in the last 500 years? I can't think of any off the top of my head, although I imagine there were a couple here and there.

How many Muslims have committed mass murder, in the name of Islam, while shouting "GOD IS GREAT" in the last year? Hundreds? Thousands?

There is a significant segment of Islam that believes violence and murder against infidels is good. You can't just write off every single terrorist attack as "a minority of extremists" or "they're not true Muslims".

You don't think all those Catholic priests let out a little "Oh GOD!" when they nut in little Timmy's poo-hole?

bfdd, yes, we all get that Muslim extremists are a sub-category of Muslims.

But Bill O'Reilly wasn't defending opposition to a Muslim extremist mosque. He was defending opposition to a Muslim mosque.

You can't say "All Muslim extremists are Muslims, but all Muslims are not extremists" and then with the same breath say "I oppose the building of a mosque by non-extremist Muslims close to ground zero". It's a non sequitur.

He didn't say all Muslims were extremists, he clearly fucking said that the majority of the people in the USA do not want the Mosque at GZ because they feel it was inappropriate. They asked him why it was inappropriate and he said Muslims attacked us. Please tell me where in there does he equate all Muslims with extremists? He doesn't, you do because you know they were Muslim extremists. From there you rationalize that the only reason Bill would leave out the extremists part is because he thinks all Muslims are extremists, but he never said that you are assuming that's what he means.

To sum it up, you and everyone else who got their panties in a bunch over this were trolled because you ASSUME(you know what they say about assuming right?) he equates Muslims to extremists, instead of just taking what he said at face value which is nothing except truth.

I still can't believe I have to come in here and defend Bill O'Reilly because some of you morons are to fucking stupid to actually think.

Was it a single person or a group? A single person would be "a Christian" whereas if it was a group, you sure as shit could.

We shouldn't be happy about Christian churches built near graveyards, because Christians protest funerals.

you are really close to "splitting hairs."

And what about those of us that know Bill O Reilly was using baiting language and are upset at him for doing so anyway?

Are we "to" fucking stupid to actually think too?

It is obvious that he was baiting the women..it is also equally OBVIOUS to us people that ACTUALLY THINK, that he doesn't need to be doing that unless his sole purpose is to stir up shit.

And he succeeded.

And so here we are...talking about Bill the Blowhard...He wins...we all lose.

The Inquisition was active until the mid 19th century. They were pretty bloody through much of their history. And don't forget the witch hunts. Those were in the name of god.

1 person amongst all Christians and 19 amongst all Muslims dosen't really change the percentage. Neither large enough proportion of the whole to be a representation.

Jesus people are so desperate to stick their head in the sand. 9/11 was an attack by Islam on the US. You can argue that it's not representative of all Islam, but it doesn't change the fact that Muslims who crashed planes into buildings in the name of Allah.

The left has really gotten to the level of double-speak on this issue.

And as for the show Whoopi and Behar lost. They're basically saying they refuse to even dicuss the issue. Ridiculous and extremely close-minded.

lmao. The fail is strong with this one.

What is incorrect about it?

Although his statement is inflammatory because it leads you to believe that all muslims are extremists, it is still technically correct.

Really? You really don't understand? "Raiders attacked us" Did all of the raiders attack us or could I have been talking about a group of raiders attacking us? Now lets look at this, Muslims attacked us on 9/11, am I talking about a group of Muslims attacking us or all Muslims attacking us? Well OBVIOUSLY not ALL Muslims attacked us, so it must be a group of Muslims that attacked us. Seriously I have to explain this to you? 1 Christian is a Christian, just as 1 Muslim is a Muslim.

To the dude who said it's splitting hairs, so? He BARELY used baited language and they FLIPPED. I mean seriously?

what a bunch of retards

he didn't go on a rant about how all muslims are terrorists. he simply stated a FACT, that muslims attacked the US on 9/11. how is that even debatable?
