Of course we are in recovery. Our GDP isn't shrinking (recession) its growing therefore we are in recovery. However it is pathetic, 1.5% gdp growth.

But really, most people that vote don't care about definitions they care about paying their bills.

you bring up a good point most people can pay their bills, those that cant are arguably poor and will most likely vote democratic anyways.

Does anyone really know what Romney's "5 point plan" is yet? He keeps talking about it, but he never gets into the math and details as if we wouldn't understand it.

Seriously though, people aren't going to be looking at charts when they decide on who to vote for. 1.5% growth is pathetic for a recovery. We aren't in recession and a slow recovery is better than recession so I guess you have that to hang your hat on but 1.5% growth isn't that far away from recession.

By scoring big on the economy, gas prices, and Libya, Romney continued his victorious string of debate wins. He looked more presidential than Obama did and showed himself to be an articulate, capable, attractive, compassionate leader with sound ideas.

Obama came over as boorish and Biden-esque. He did not learn from his Vice President's mistakes. When a president gets into a bar room brawl, he loses his dignity and his aura, key assets for an incumbent. Romney was polite but firm. Obama seemed quarrelsome, frustrated, nasty, and cranky.

This is why I think he sounded like he was running for Student Body President. I was really expecting him to promise a vending machine in the quad at any moment.

There is a difference between miracle and recovery. People were claiming 3% GDP growth as great economy during George W, which is also "not far away" from 1.5 either.

Unfortunately our crisis was caused by the housing market, which is arguably the worst to recover from. Energy crisis may be another similar situation. Remember, this is the single biggest purchase of most people's lives. People actually expect our economy to "bounce" right back?
