I think it will be Iran; it is a foregone conclusion that they are going to attain a nuclear weapon as early as this year;

Fresh Clues of Iranian Nuclear Intrigue

"There doesn't seem to be any real doubt or debate whether Iran is going for the bomb or whether Iran is using front companies to import things. Everyone agrees on that around the world."

The Iranian government has such an overwhelming desire to see Israel destroyed; it seems it is like a holy mandate to them that must be carried out at all cost. Their President also believes that they will usher in the new messiah by such a holocaust. So once they think they have acquired enough nuclear weapons to do the job, BOOM!

Either that or they want nukes to deter US/Israeli aggression. Bush, Cheney, and Rice swinging their dicks around for eight years, committing war crimes against a next door neighbor, has done nothing but push Iran to move faster on weapons development. Under the circumstances, with nuclear-armed US, Israel, and Pakistan in the region, it would be irresponsible for Iran to not pursue nuclear weapons.

Only in your world is Israel the aggressor towards Iran. Regardless, Iran provides arms and training to Hizballah and Hamas, both actively fighting Israel. I think that in such a situation Israel would be insane not to act aggressively towards Iran.

Iran does not give Hamas arms. How many Israeli soldiers died in the invasion of Gaza? 1? Hamas has nothing.
Hezollah gets arms from Iran. Iran does not arm Hezbollah with WMD.

Iran wants nuclear weapons so nobody can push them around. If Israel really believed they would be nuked by Iran the day they got a nuclear bomb they would have attacked Iran years ago. Not wait for them to build air defense systems and upgrade their radar and aircraft.

They are still going to do it. As they proved with Syria last year, even advanced Russian SAMs can be evaded.

The Russians are still trying to figure out what happened there....

Do what? Attack 80+ sites in Iran to take out their nuclear capabilities?
An attack on Iran is over. Should have happened years ago.
Iran has all the materials needed to build a bomb. They just need to figure out how to build a bomb.
The only way to stop Iran is a full scale air attack that will last for days.

Israel attacked Syria because reports showed the area was defenseless. Syria had no reason to protect that area. It was supposed to be secret.

Is Aimster totally ignorant of recent history and news?

Israel already recently bombed Syria because Israel though Syria was building a N. Korea aided nuclear program. The US finally said go for it and Israel did. Totally demolishing the building.

Just in the past few days its been revealed that Israel sought and failed to get GWB's permission to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities. But its obvious they are itching to do it, and if they do it, it would thereby committing an act of war. And maybe Israel will be willing to use nukes to do it, because taking out deeply buried Iranian nuclear facilities may require more than conventional explosives.

Its not hard to imagine that someday Israel will act unilaterally and the USA will be blamed for it.

There is no doubt in anybody's military mind that the Iranian facilities will require much more than conventional munitions can provide.
