With India and Pakistan, do they have enough nukes for a MAD situation? India is a pretty decent sized country, though I guess most of it's population is in large cities.

Pakistan has about 100 Hiroshima+ missiles that can be deployed within 24 hours. They have the missile technology to reach any target within India. It's about as close to MAD as you can get between the two countries.

Personally, I think either Israel or Pakistan will be the countries that do end up using the bomb. I can see, in 40 or 50 years, that if Israel finally gets overrun by it's surrounding neighbors, it'll do a final "FU" to the nations involved and nuke their major cities.

Likewise, I can see Pakistan using nukes on India in an escalating war, basically reducing the entire subcontinent into a glowing mess. Both sides would be annihilated, but if Pakistan was already going to lose massively in a conventional war, why not make India pay dearly for it. 10 nukes per major city will definitely put a cramp in India's victory.

Really, I'd like to see Pakistan get past the USA forces in Iraq, not to mention carrier groups that often operate in the area that would annihilate the arab air forces. As for missiles, you got nothing besides what's carried by plains (if that) that could get anywhere near Israel.

You'd also more then likely lose the element of surprise if you prepared to launch a attack on that scale, which would mean every aircraft and every ship you send will be destroyed. On the ground Israel will rape your armies back with USA air power. Your countries would then come under attack until you surrendered.

God forbid that you actually win, your entire armies and all your capital cities would be turned into glass craters.

While Israel isn't a NATO country, many NATO countries do back them. Regardless of NATO though, the US, UK, India, Germany, and Turkey all are close allies of Israel. The US and UK would support Israel just to get rid of the unstable countries, and that terrorists operate out of them both.

NATO might not support them, although it wouldn't be unexpected if they did. The U.N. might support them as well, depending on the situation started the conflict. Even without any support Israel would have my money on winning that war as well.
