Who was the biggest jerk in this video?

The Camaro driver is 100% responsible for the accident. I would think his insurer would cancel his policy after paying for all that damage and seeing the video. That being said, the pickup driver behaved foolishly in trying to act as a traffic cop. Creating a roadblock in order to teach an aggressive driver a lesson is an exceptionally foolish, and sometimes dangerous, thing to do.

Camero.

But, the pickup should have stayed in the right lane so he/she could have let the faster traffic move. They decided to stay in the passing lane which caused the Camaro driver to lose his/her patience. In NJ, it's actually against the law to drive in the left lane. It's used as a passing lane, and you should only use the lane to pass slower vehicles.

It's illegal to drive in the left lane except when passing? :colbert:

All i saw was a taillight out on the camaro. Take this as a lesson kids, always check your lights before operating a vehicle.

Maybe the Camaro driver had to get to the hospital quickly for something? More so now I suppose. :whiste:

Some places do have laws about the left lane being for passing/not impeding other drivers.

This seemed to be in florida though and don't believe they do.

Honestly, I'm cool with that. I assume you can use all lanes when there is traffic... lol

Pickup was passing the semi, he had every right to be in the left lane.

Do you people even watch the videos before you comment?

Looks like the pickup was trying to be an asshole to the asshole and boxed the camaro in and wouldn't pass the truck actually.

Up in the northeast, you aren't supposed to impede traffic in the passing lanes.

You also aren't supposed to pass on the right.

Camaro brought this on himself.

Pickup wasn't trying to pass the semi on the left, he was intentionally parallel to him so the camaro would be boxed in. I'm pretty sure you can pass on the right if the guy on the left is impeding traffic.

Biggest jerk is the person who posted it on that site. That site is blocked at work. Put it on youtube...

90% of the semi-trucks on our major highway here pass like that (barely going 1-2 km/h faster than the one they are overtaking)

Not in MN, you can never pass on the right unless you are a bus.

But based on your logic the driver with the dashcam is just as much at fault as the pickup driver since he was not trying to pass anyone either.

The Camaro driver is an idiot from the start to the end. He should lose his license for a very long time.

But the pickup truck driver is clearly at fault, as well, for his behavior. I'd expect him to be ticketed, at the least. At first, from the shadows, you can see that there's a vehicle in front of the truck, but it's long gone by the time of the accident. The pickup driver is just being a jerk at that point and keeping the car from passing.

And the guy with the dash cam? Following too closely for much of this video.

Pickup truck driver absolutely deserves a citation. He was impeding traffic.

You're not allowed to do that because you need to be clear of the lane for passing traffic and especially emergency vehicles. You're not supposed to wait until someone else wants the lane. You gtfo, asap.

That camaro driver could have been rushing to see his/her dying mother, and was in an absolute panic. Or they could have just been impatient, but that's not up for the pickup truck driver to decide.

If he was trying to pass I don't think their front tires would have been in such approximate equality for the two minutes or so of video showing nothing else.

FL just passed a law that says indeed you may not camp out in the passing lane and block traffic, pass the vehicle next to you and continue on at speed or move over once you've made the pass. That being said the Camaro driver was driving very aggressive right from the start, I hope the DMV see's this tape and pulls his license.

Camaro tried to pass on the right, make an improper lane change, tailgated, failed to maintain a lane, passed on the shoulder, then failed to maintain control of his vehicle and caused an accident. I hope he gets 20 points on his license and his insurance is more than his car payment.

Yes, and the pickup truck was driving in the left lane. The ONLY time you drive in the left lane is when you are passing a vehicle in the right lane. GTFO of the left lane.
