So who's your driver?

Well, like I said, I don't follow it as closely as I'd like. My girlfriend and I don't have cable, so it's hard to watch races. I'd say I have a few favorites. Kyle Busch, JR, and Stewart. I used to think Kyle Busch was an annoying little brat, but, he's a good driver, and pretty fun to watch.

He came up to Maine this summer for a big racing weekend at one of our local tracks. There were two big races, and he won them both (duh). He didn't win it by a mile though. He clearly had the best two cars all weekend, but he let some other drivers lead for most of the races. When it came down to 15-20 laps, he turned it on and basically marched to the front. He didn't make it obvious that he could have lapped the entire field either. He made it a good show. Raced close, and gave some local boys some good stories to tell.

My dad took me to a race at Talladega in the late 70's early 80's. The crowd was tattoos required shoes optional. The women had teeth like pearls (very rare) but they sure liked to show their tits. That was all that matter to this teenage boy at the time and a NASCAR fan was born.

I enjoyed watching and going to some races during the 80s and into the 90s. Seeing Bill Elliot running over 220 mph was impressive. I started losing interest when restrictor plates rules were implemented. Then the body templates and now all the cars are the same. Don't watch much anymore.

This

Not so much of this lol.

While I'd say the pit crews are more athletes then the drivers, it takes a lot for someone to sit inside a very hot car for 3+ hours with no AC.

As Krynj stated, painting with such broad strokes makes people look more like a fool and less like someone with a valid argument.

Although I find Zin to be entertaining at least

I'd actually watch it if they were literally only allowed to run cars that you could buy off a showroom floor (only safety modifications allowed). Absolutely no other changes allowed. If the showroom car comes with a radio, AC, navigation, passenger seats, etc., then the race car must have all of the same equipment. That, combined with a maximum MSRP of any vehicles raced and a rather modest minimum sales per year figure would make it interesting - you'd either have companies striving (innovating) to have the fastest vehicle within a certain budget (win for consumers, since, you know, you could actually purchase the vehicle), or selling the vehicle in question at quite a loss (also a win for consumers).

I can understand and appreciate the challenge of NASCAR driving, but it's boring as hell to watch. Most motorsports are boring to me, though, so I'm not really singling out NASCAR. The only ones I enjoy are rally and other off-road racing. With NASCAR and F1, it's just cars going around an oval or going around a track, exactly the same every time, for hours and hours.

Nascar is the 'worst' motorsport.. ever.

YAAA FOR PROFESSIONAL LEFT TURNING.

I never hear people bitching about open wheel oval racing. People seem to hold the Indianapolis 500 in high regard. Why is that?

My Korean friend in Georgia went to see a Nascar race... he said the stadium was FULL of rednecks and he was the only minority.

F1, F3, BTCC, WTCC, LMS, ALMS, JGTC, and WRC>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NASCAR.

If you're a reasonably intelligent human being you should already know this.

They need a no-holds barred race where whoever designs the best car and drives it the best wins. I want to see Jet powered cars going up against hovercrafts going up against motorcycles. Design different courses so that each kind of car has advantages and disadvantages at different points.

Like a golf course where some courses favor the short game and others favor the long game, etc...

Until then, with all the rules that make pretty much all cars identical, its just stupid.

Completely different styles of racing and not nearly as entertaining imo.

One of the main examples of human stupidity, right here.

Doesn't surprise me you like NASCAR.
