the PS3 price is ridiculous... sony cannot afford to sell for more than Xbox 360. What the heck to they think is going to happen? All of the small amount of the initial PS3's will be sold out and suddenly come Christmas parents will look at the 300-400 dollar Xbox 360 that is cheaper, in stock, and looks great enough. People will HARDLY notice a difference between the two. I know how great it looks on paper, but in reality it should be so close. BAD BAD BAD move by sony! I expect xbox 360 to take a huge gain due to this.

Hell no and this confrence just made it even more clear. If they came out and blew me away then MAYBE i would think about it...but now..no chance..here is why.
First..I dont like consoles all that much. I always get one but they dont get played that much. I play very few games cause there are only a few good ones for each system. They get boring and then gather dust. Xbox360 and Ps3 will cost so much that its just not worth it. THe Wii will be cheap and have new gameplay that I might actually sit down to the TV and think hey...this could be fun.

and now I am pissed at ps3 for being dicks. Ok it would be fine if they did it in a tasteful stye but seriously..they looked like dicks.

In my opinion, the PS3 will blow. All I've seen them do so far is taking bits and pieces of the other two and trying to create some mega awesome gaming station. Chances are it'll all blow up in their faces and those hundreds of millions of dollars they spent to create it will go down the tubes.

PSP hooks up with PS3 (didnt Nintendo do this)
PS3 Online (looks exactly like XBOX Live)
Controller (Rip off Ninentdo)
Nintendo is going to cost half, Xbox will drop to 300 for premium. Are people going to pay 500 bucks for a game system??
Don't tell me how much of a great value it is, because it comes with a Bluray player... Adoption rates for next gen DVD are not going to be as dramatic as they were for the DVD. It also doesnt help that there is a competing cheaper format out. This was not the case with DVD.

Nintendo's system is the only one I'm really considering buying, mainly because the price seems like it will be the most reasonable, and I've grown tired of console games and Nintendo's is the only one that seems to be switching things up this round.

snes: $199 i bought it this day using my parents hard earned cash in 1991 😛
n64: $199, bought it at launch
gamecube: $249? i dont remember, i got this baby for 179 i think
wii: if 249 = i am getting one at launch as well!
their handhelds are pretty cheap too, i am waiting for the DS Lite 😀

Won't some people just buy this as a Bluray player and not buy any games? Sony loses money on every console.
There will also be people that are "forced" to buy a 500 dollar video game system that don't care about Bluray.
