If you get hit by a guy who ran the red while you made your left turn, you will get a ticket for failure to yield. Traffic laws are made to rotect you. The guy who ran the red is failing to sto at a red light but you must yield to him for your own safety and the law.

Absolutely not true. I have another $100 says you're wrong. Got paypal? See above.

Somewhat unrelated, but also somewhat pertinent to this conversation, an insurance aadjuster will still place part of the blame, probably 40%, on the person with the green arrow, should they get in an accident with someone running the red light, because they should have done everything they could have to stay out of an accident situation if someone came flying through the red light and hit the person turning on green. If they claim they did not see the person, that can mean they were an inattentive driver and still be at fault. Usually it will take a witness or two to step forward and say there was no way the person turning on green could have seen the other person for X reason before the adjuster can or will change their tune.

I'm married to an adjuster.

Emergency vehicles (with sirens/lights on) or pedestrians. I'm pretty sure you are always royally farked if you ever hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk even if the pedestrian was crossing against the signal.

somebody already posted a link that says people with a left turn green arrow have the right of way. I never yield when I'm turning left and have a green arrow. In an on coming car hits me it's THEIR fault not mine. I will also take people up on this Pay Pal bet thing, seems like easy money :D

Too late.

Edit: Damn, I was way too late with this response. :p

Except that if it were an ambulance traversing your path that had its lights flashing that you collided with you while you were turning left on a protected green arrow, it would be totally and completely YOUR fault. Emergency vehicles > *. You never have the right of way over an emergency vehicle that is in emergency response mode.
