Forgive me as I shed a crocodile tear for our fallen Fair & Balanced network. The network who gives a podium to GOP fire-breathers like Sean Eight-Heads Hannity.

Madrassa? Madrassa! MADRASSA!

Bravo Obama, for marginalizing the "journalists" at Faux News. Keep it up for the next 8 years!

BTW, anyone have any memorable clips from Fox News during this election? Please share!

Here's one of Robert Gibbs, the future Obama White House Press Secretary, taking on Hannity.

Why should this be a surprise? and do you really think Fox cares? they kill the competition with their primetime lineup...heck they could do the news for free just to F with the mainstream, it is only a bonus for them that their news program is one of the most heavily watched....if anything that is pretty damn funny.

Remember the expression "keep your friends close and your enemies closer"

Not sure antagonizing the network that will be watched by those in the opposition is a good idea.

According to several studies their 'news' coverage is very fair.

It is their commentary that pisses off all you libs.

9 news organizations and Fox News wasn't one of them. Too much is left to coincidence for this to be a story.

Well give Non Prof John the booby prize for being a total boob while missing the all important distinction.

Events are events, X happened on day Y, maybe one can censor the existence of an event with a ignore it by not reporting it, but still, the news is the news.

Its in the commentary where most of the potential for bias lies, and since many in the listening or viewing audience may not be very sophisticated at thinking for themselves, fooling the American public can become a political weapon.

But earth to non Prof John, propaganda is and can be a two edged sword. So let me express my gratitude to Fox news on behalf of the democratic party. Fox news has done a great job at fooling the GOP into thinking their shit for brains candidates stood a chance in the elections of 2006 and 2008, and that GWB was doing a great job. So instead of having a balanced view of the world or a clear understanding of what public policies needed to be changed, the GOP by in large failed to make the needed adjustments reality demanded.

So by all means PJ, keep right on a listening to Fox news and Limbaugh, while the world laughs at you idiot loony tunes who can't even see a clear view of reality and instead rely on the narcotic of distovision glasses. And then like a gaggle of lemming, you jump off the nearest cliff.

It really stinks when you believe your own propaganda.

Considering he took the best heat McLame and the Republicants threw at him, and dished them a healthy portion of ass-kicking on election night...I'm sure he could take it.

I dont think who got to ask the questions is nearly as important as the questions themselves..
For example, how did Obama answer when asked if he was sticking to his plan to raises the upper end taxes to cut it for the lower end/deliver those checks? He didnt. He sputtered around it, avoided it completely, and spoke about things that clearly indicate he has no intention of living up to that promise. "We will look into it"
He also cleared up how he lied about his denial of the meeting with the Canadians, and further tried to cover up his Rezko relationship.

Overall, the press conference only reminded me of why I didnt vote for him. He is a smooth talker that used the economy to feed off America's current desire to get a check. He has not done a single thing that makes me TRUST him.

Fox News defending Obama here, or its seems to be:

For those of you who like to slant the story to your own liking when you report it to friends and family, here is the transcript of the today's Fox News interview with Ralph Nader. Try reading what Nader actually said rather than hearing what Fox News wanted you to hear:

Fox News: "Guess who's here? The Independent party candidate, Ralph Nader. This is his second run for the Presidency since he played spoiler in the close 2000 contest. This year he was on the ballot in 45 states plus D.C. This year he was polling about 1-percent. Ralph, you spoke to Fox News Radio's Houston affiliate today, and said this:"

Nader: "To put it very simply, he is our first African-American president; or he will be. And we wish him well. But his choice, basically, is whether he's going to be Uncle Sam for the people of this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations".

Fox News: "Really. Ralph Nader -- What was that?"

Nader: "It's very simple. He has gone along with corporate power from the moment he entered politics in the State Senate -- Voted for the Wall Street Bailout -- Supports expanding military budget that is desired by the military industrial complex, and doesn't really have a tax reform thing for the ordinary fellow in this country -- Opposes single-payer full Medicare for all, because the giant HMOs AETNA and SIGNA do -- Doesn't have a living wage -- He's supposed to be respectful of the poor -- hardly mentions them in his speech -- It's all the middle class -- He doesn't have a comprehensive program..."

(Interrupted by Fox)
Fox News: "... and you utter the words 'Uncle Tom'? Are you kidding me?"

Nader: "Yeah... that's the question he's gotta face."

(Interrupted by Fox)
Fox News: "He didn't have to face it until it came out of your mouth! I mean, I just wonder if you don't realize that you had a number of supporters out there. You were running a percentage this year, you were reduced to irrelevant, and I just wonder now if that's what you want your legacy to be -- the man who, on the night that the first African American President in the history of this nation was elected, you ask if he's going to be Uncle Sam or Uncle Tom."

Nader: "Yeah, of course. He's turned his back on a hundred-million poor people in this country -- African Americans and Latinos and poor whites, and we're gonna hold them to a higher standard. It's just not an unprecedented career move, ya know, in the White House. We expect more of Barack Obama..."

(Interrupted by Fox)
Fox News: "You were reduced to complete irrelevance here. You weren't able to play spoiler. Will you run again?"

Nader: "Look, I don't like bullies like you. I can't see you. You can pull the plug on me. I'm lookin' at a dark camera..."

(Interrupted by Fox)
Fox News: "You said "Uncle Tom". I didn't say it, sir. With respect, I did not say it..."

Nader: "I said that's the question HE has to answer. He can become a great President, or he can become a toady for the corporate powers that have brought both parties to their knees against working people in this country, and have allowed our country to be hijacked by global corporations who have no allegiance to this country other than to ship its jobs and industries to fascist and communist dictators abroad who know how to keep their workers in their place. This is reality here. This is not show business. It's not celebrity politics. There are people suffering in this country, and we expect a great Presidency from Barack Obama, and we're gonna try to hold his feet to the fire..."

(Interrupted by Fox)
Fox News: "I just wonder if, in hindsight, you wish you'd used a phrase other than Uncle Tom"?

Nader: "Not -- at all. Do you know what the historic...."

(Interrupted by Fox)
Fox News: "Fair enough. Thanks very much. We'll have a response from our panel in just a moment."

Nader: "Thank you..." [1]

Without getting excited or stuttering or being dramatic or raising his voice or missing a beat -- without even raising both eyebrows (cuz he can only raise one) -- Nader very politely shredded both Barack Obama and the interviewer to ribbons and mopped up the floor with both of them in less than four and a half minutes.

You're one of a kind, Ralph. Good job. Thank God somebody in this country still owns a pair.

Since this is just Obama's first press conference as President elect and only a very limited cross section of the press had the distinction of asking a question at all, its way too early to advance a hypothesis that the Obama administration is biased against any network. And idf Obama does allow Fox tom ask a few future questions, it would end the viability if this thread.

But the historically guaranteed way to be shunned in any Presidential administration is to ask the loaded have you stopped beating your wife type question. As it is, Fox could lose their FCC license to use the public
airwaves on their past record alone.
