Who else won't be buying the Xbox 360?

And I bought a good compliment of games that, other than Halo, got old quick. The fact is that Xbox did not deliver on the software end by any stretch of the imagination. Also, if you take into account the most important aspect of gaming, online multiplayer, the Xbox & game developers left a lot to be desired. Lack of after release support was a primary problem with the online portion of many games and, honestly, I quit playing most games within a month of buying them.

The Xbox also saw one of the biggest shams in video game history in the huge Fable that Peter Molyneuax sold to Xbox owners. You'll be able to fully interact with an immersive & non linear world is what he told everyone. What did we get? It would be best described as an on-rails platformer, completely lacking what has made great RPG's great. I sold my copy within a week, knowing full well i had dropped $50 on one of the biggest marketing hoaxes in history.

I have nothing against MS or Xbox and am not a fanboy of any console. This is but a fair warning to all those buying into the hype of the Xbox 360...sure it looks pretty, but would you want to be married to Pamela Anderson?

The PC offers such a diverse collection of games & usually gets the games consoles consider "exclusive". No, the Xbox 360 will not destroy the PC in graphics or any other performance standard. I commend them for making an impressive sounding hardware setup for people who know nothing to get excited about, but the fact is that if it was that great it would'nt cost less than a top end PC video card. Sorry, it just wouldn't.

I never buy consoles when they first come out.

If the Xbox2 is anything like the xbox1 as far as games, HELL NO.

Xbox doesnt come close to the great titles PS2 offers.

I'll have to wait and see.

lol, definitely not. After the Xbox's total failure to pull a good library of quality games I won't bother buying the X360 until it's around $100 if I do at all.

I'm getting one... i don't have any consoles now, just because i don't normally like console games, but there's been a few now that i wish i had a console for (latest Resident Evil, Jade Empire, Fable)... and because the next gen will support HD, internet capable (more than gaming hopefully), and will hopefully have MMOGs, i'm all for them.

Yep, funny thing is I own all 3 consoles. I was so pumped about Halo2 & it got old quick with all the cheating & BS that goes on in that game. Xbox just had a string of games that fell way short of expectations, not to mention they didn't have a whole lot to begin with. Now, I find myself wanting to play one of the 12-15 great PC games that have been released in the past year.

I'm telling you Looney, Fable is not what it's cracked up to be. It's geared towards 12 year olds who are trying to burn time for a weekend because they're grounded. Story is generic, gameplay is pure Zelda, and it is only about 15-20 hours long max.

I don't know if I will be, since I haven't been bothered to play any of my games much for a while (I still haven't finished Halo 2, even though I got it launch day).

Don't care for consoles, if I win one, like my N64, then of course I'll use it, but as far as I'm concerned, if I can't even type on it, it's not worth my money.

I won't buy one on launch day, but a few weeks later, perhaps.

I still need to get my widescreen HDTV and upgrade my HTPCs connectivity. =/

I'll need an HDTV first. I'll keep an eye on the games. I had a PS2 and sold it, now I have an Xbox. For the massive collection of games out there for the PS2, very few interested me. I don't know if the PS3 will be any better, and I already see some games on the Xbox 360 that I wouldn't mind playing.

I'll be buying one....probably on the first day, if the specs (and price) hold true and there are some games that interest me...

You'll probably have to activate it online, or it will blue screen (lol). No thanks, I'll stick with Sony.

I hope you meant that in a good way.

You can likely count me out also. While I will not know for sure until E3, I can say so far you have to be a sucker to be there at launch at the moment. Pics of DOA4 and PDO look so extremely rushed its not even funny. Few that look good seem to be Fall 06, who buys a machine a year early at higher price? I guess its easy for me not being much of "western" gamer. I likely wait a year until those rpgs hit or something other then usual xbox fps and racers(Im expecting they are not ready yet either), get better price, perhaps better more standable hardware(though that usually sony thing).

Well i just saw the MTV xbox360 special, and i'm not impressed. I was hoping to be wow'd by the graphics, but there was nothing there that can't be done on today's systems (and hasn't already been done).

You console v. PC people  I have both, I like both, why does everyone keep trying to tout one over the other????? I will keep buying both because they both have things I like about them. If you are in a position where financially it is one or the other, stop posting here, it is unproductive, and go make more bank ;)

Nothing like the sham he sold to PC owners- Black&White :p

You would have to redefine the word 'suck' for it to take you anywhere near 20 hours to play through Fable. No guide, no tricks/cheats, every sidequest- seven hours first play through. My son who was eight at the time did it in under 12 hours- and he was goofing off.

I commend them for making an impressive sounding hardware setup for people who know nothing to get excited about, but the fact is that if it was that great it would'nt cost less than a top end PC video card. Sorry, it just wouldn't.

That quote is one I should keep around to use as torture for educated people- it really comes close to that 'lowering IQ points' status. It is amazing how little you understand business if you honestly think that, shocking actually.

Now, I find myself wanting to play one of the 12-15 great PC games that have been released in the past year.

Like what? Besides owning all the consoles I've kept my PC fed quite heavily all along(as always) and the consoles have utterly demolished the PC in the last year. My apologies you have very, very bad taste in games based on the choices you made(years ago when I couldn't afford to buy whatever games I had time for I was a bit more careful then it appears you are). I would reccomend trying something like RE4, Forza and God of War when you can afford to purchase some more titles for your consoles.

On the broader question- I'll be there on launch day picking up at least three of them(need a couple for the kids too). Same as with the PS3(which looks to be considerably more powerful then the XB- this weeks announcement revealed absolutely nothing that wasn't widely known months ago for those that follow the industry- although it did finalize the amount of RAM) and Revolution.
