And I bought a good compliment of games that, other than Halo, got old quick. The fact is that Xbox did not deliver on the software end by any stretch of the imagination. Also, if you take into account the most important aspect of gaming, online multiplayer, the Xbox & game developers left a lot to be desired. Lack of after release support was a primary problem with the online portion of many games and, honestly, I quit playing most games within a month of buying them.
The Xbox also saw one of the biggest shams in video game history in the huge Fable that Peter Molyneuax sold to Xbox owners. You'll be able to fully interact with an immersive & non linear world is what he told everyone. What did we get? It would be best described as an on-rails platformer, completely lacking what has made great RPG's great. I sold my copy within a week, knowing full well i had dropped $50 on one of the biggest marketing hoaxes in history.
I have nothing against MS or Xbox and am not a fanboy of any console. This is but a fair warning to all those buying into the hype of the Xbox 360...sure it looks pretty, but would you want to be married to Pamela Anderson?
The PC offers such a diverse collection of games & usually gets the games consoles consider "exclusive". No, the Xbox 360 will not destroy the PC in graphics or any other performance standard. I commend them for making an impressive sounding hardware setup for people who know nothing to get excited about, but the fact is that if it was that great it would'nt cost less than a top end PC video card. Sorry, it just wouldn't.
