My Mother in law (who is visiting at the moment) lives right on the water on Siesta Key in Sarasota. A big storm surge will flood the first floor of her apartment building and trash everything in her garage which for some reason is carpeted...
My father-in-law lives on Treasure Island near Tampa and has spent at least a week preparing his two boats for the storm. I hope his insurance is paid up. He was forced to evacuate and is now at his sons house in Bradenton.
What is the best website to follow the storms progress on?
If someone has pics then they are stupid for sticking around. The Governor has ordered those areas that would have the storm surge to be evacuated!!i really wanna see pics from someones house.
i heard things on the news here, in NY, about the storm surge and how it might leave tampa under water.
weird. just glad its not NY getting hit with this head on. the subways would be out of commission for every with salt water damage from a 12-20 foot storm surge.

The hurricane will be waaaay slowed down in NC. The people on the west coast of Florida are the ones who should be worried.
Anyone in Tampa ever experience a major hurricane before? They are saying this one could be a category 3.
