i really wanna see pics from someones house.

i heard things on the news here, in NY, about the storm surge and how it might leave tampa under water.

weird. just glad its not NY getting hit with this head on. the subways would be out of commission for every with salt water damage from a 12-20 foot storm surge.

What is the best website to follow the storms progress on?

If someone has pics then they are stupid for sticking around. The Governor has ordered those areas that would have the storm surge to be evacuated!!

On the Weather Channel they are apprently broadcasting Live from the Hilton Hotel in Redignton Beach (right on the water). My wife's parents owned a spot in the condo that's next door to that place but they sold it earlier this year. I'm sure they'll be thanking the lord if it hits their place and does a lot of damage. They've only had 1 other hurricane hit them since they bought it many years ago.

I'm in RTP, NC. We will probably just get alot of rain. I don't imagine it will be that much wind though. My work took a precaution and put sandbags around the cafeteria(very low lieing area).

The hurricane will be waaaay slowed down in NC. The people on the west coast of Florida are the ones who should be worried.

Anyone in Tampa ever experience a major hurricane before? They are saying this one could be a category 3.

Category 4! Look out all in the path. This has become very dangerous. 164mph flight level winds were just reported which correlates to 145mph at the surface.

They are saying now the path has been moved more to the east, witch will bring it really close to orange and seminole counties. Going to be an interesting night thats for sure.

I'm on the disaster recover team, I work out of Miramar FL, but we have offices all over the country and one in Tampa, myself and a team of other IT co-workers are going to be dispatched to our Tampa location after the hurricane passes to "rebuild" anything that was damaged from the hurricane, infrastructure wise so we can get them back up and running.

Our zones go A-E and each zone equals one category of hurricane, I'm inland so no evacuation.

Looks like Fort Meyers is going to get pounded. That little barrier island Pine Island? looks to be directly in the path. This could be very bad if people there haven't evacuated.
