RX 460 will not be 200 Euro, it should be close to 120-140 Euro. RX 470 will be close to 200 Euro. Preorder prices dont reflect real product prices, you should wait until September when availability will be better and prices stabilize.

Well, i did not claim it would be 200, those were preorders price on a couple of tech websites that i saw in my country. Looking at this though:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/4varfs/a_response_to_uanergoss_rx480_pricing_in_europe/

I do not think the bottom countries on that list will see a 120 euro card initially. Even then, 120 euro would still make it 35 dollars above the msrp that you wrote in your post (i understand the 20%~ tax, but for all intents and purposes it's not a 99$ card in most of the world).

Though if you see one for 120, or less, in any of the shafted countries, i would love to be proved wrong.

AMD has historically been much more generous with VRAM than NV, so I don't get why they went lowball with 2 GB VRAM for the 460. 3GB should be the absolute minimum by now.

Do you have any evidence that a sub-1000 SP card can ever possibly make use of more than 2 GB of VRAM?

Those who don't grasp the 460's appeal: it's better performance than onboard, it uses low power, it will come in SFFs and is perfect for HTPCs and smaller machines that might play a game or two and might not really be at 1080p. A card like this frees up system ram otherwise used by the integrated graphics, etc. Not everyone looks for video cards strictly for gaming and killer framerates/ultra settings.

I wanted to buy a 470, but where the hell is it!!? I was on vacation and busy for 3-4 weeks so didn't follow the news. Thought surely the 470 must be out by now. But not a word! (thought it was supposed to come right after the 480?)

I just built my new pc and it's without a card, yey onboard graphics.. At this rate I might as well put my old 6950 in there. Sounds like it might be 3 months + before a custom 470 is out? I want something super-quite, with 0 dB at idle, for my near-silent build.

Been some decent sales of r9 380 cards below $150, but if the 470 is that price anyway I'd rather wait

It'll be released on August 4th. 2 days to go...
Wow, awesome! Hopefully custom cards aren't far behind, but consider custom 480s are barely out it might be a while. And of course how much will custom 470s cost? $180?

Pretty sure there won't be reference 470 and 460 and only custom cards will come out tomorrow. We'll see.

Ugh, that would suck. Hm R9 380 on sale now for $145. Same or slightly lower performance, but cheaper and available now..? I only play old stuff, except I want to play doom. A 380 would be OK I think. Judging from the 480 it doesn't seem power consumption will be much lower anyway. Decisions..

Does anyone know of a *confirmed* low-profile ready RX 460 card? Any pics?

Or is this all under NDA until the 8th?

Newegg posting 470s for sale. Starting at 6 am. Which is now but it still tells me "coming soon"..

Sapphire nitro+ is listed at $210. That's more then I had hoped it would be. Isn't that awfully close to the 480?

Edit.
Newegg page is up. Two sapphire cards ($210 and $240 for 8GB) and a PowerColor red devil ($180).

Now where are reviews..? I need some dbA measurements.

Any further info on this? I keep looking and didn't find any info on 460 1/2 height.

So I broke down. Got mad at PowerColor for raising the price of their 470 from $180 to $200 after it sold out. So I ordered an MSI card for the same price. Lol.

Newegg said "ships in 2-3 days" and let me place a backorder. But does that even mean I'll get the card anytime soon? What's the difference between "backorder" and out of stock anyway? In both cases they don't have it in stock..

You can currently get the GTX 950's that don't require a 6-pin connector for about $110 on Newegg. I've been considering grabbing one. Does anyone really think the RX 460 will outperform it? When is the 460 supposed to be released?

You can get the XFX that's in stock for slightly more using Visa Checkout with $15 off $200 promocode VCOGOLD16 if you don't want to wait.

I just bought the Red Devil 470 with a 1c filler for $184.99 using Visa Checkout since I missed out on the earlier $179.99 initial price. I know it's marked up a bit now but I want to upgrade my son's video card.

Interesting. Looking up info on this promo now. Couldn't get it to work in the Newegg app..

Edit
Found it. Only on $200+. So some cards are 1 cent too cheap. I'll add a case fan and try it..

Aaaand out of stock again before I could check out. Fuck this shit!

Hm... Does not seem as efficient as advertised.

Many GTX750TI cards also had a PCI-E power connector too.

460 probably OC model = 1731 graphics score
gtx 950 = 1851

now let's see how other Polaris compare to Maxwell on this benchmark.

RX 480 = 3884
GTX 980 = 3867

You need to compare AMD to AMD,so that is more like an HD7870/R9 270/R9 270X level score.

I will probably buy a 480/470 depending on price (live in Canada) for my upgrade of an old Q9400 desktop.

If I end up replacing my laptop, it will probably be with a model with a Nvidia card.
