the fact that this guy is a "crime and politics blogger " just makes the whole story stink. I hope they link him to the unsubstantiated report and nail this douche bag.

Nobody else noticed that the incident that happened was the second time that day they were stopped by a police officer? The first time around the officer interviewed the girl for a few minutes, the girl identified him as her grandfather, and they were allowed to leave. It was about two blocks later when the whole drama happened.

And notice nobody is complaining about the first stop. It's the second one where the pigs acted like he was a hardened criminal.

They couldn't walk up to the guy, say "Good afternoon sir, we've had a report of a young black girl being abducted by a white male. Can you tell me how you know this girl?" and take it from there?

wow, i guess being a blogger is akin to kidnapping and murder nowadays.

I was just mentioning this because a lot of people were replying that "well they had to question him, there's a report of a child kidnapping", etc. Well the police had already done that, and somehow even with him being fully cooperative the first time (though apparently the officer didn't believe the result, hence the second stop) they felt the need to treat him like a criminal the second time.

The profession with the highest percentage of sick people in it has to be the Police.
Since you capitalized it...

And right after this, the insane kidnapper slashes the little girl with the razor sharp knife he had been palming.

The police were correct to quickly separate the two until they had a chance to question him and her separately. Perhaps they were a little too rough in handling him, but I think the safety of a potential kidnapped kid comes first.

Like I said, everyone wants to think life is like the movies. You apparently do, you're going to invent dramatic situations and react to them instead of reality.

Everyone in close proximity to another person is a potential murderer. Should the police start randomly accosting people on the street in the off chance they have a "razor sharp knife" in their hand?

No, but when they have a report of a white man abducting a black child they should act with all precaution to protect the child.

And the funny thing is, if it was a black guy with a white girl, everyone would be crying "but if it was a white guy with a black girl they wouldn't have done anything!!!!!111"

Nope.

Like Adam Carolla keeps saying; Cops are not racists, they are dicks to everyone. It is just that blacks attribute the cops actions to them being black.

In hindsight, the cops acted rougher than necessary, but if the guy actually was kidnapping the girl, which the cops kinda have to assume is true, this wouldn't even be be a story.

Hell for all they know the guy might have been a mad bomber and rigged the little girl with explosives. They probably should have called in Keanu Reeves to defuse the situation.

Perhaps the first stop was not done correctly and things could have ended up this way:

In the early morning hours of May 27, 1991, 14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone (by coincidence, the younger brother of the boy whom Dahmer had molested) was discovered on the street, wandering naked, heavily under the influence of drugs and bleeding from his rectum. Two young women from the neighborhood found the dazed boy and called 911. Dahmer chased his victim down and tried to take him away, but the women stopped him.[30] Dahmer told John Balcerzak and Joseph Gabrish, police officers dispatched to the scene, that Sinthasomphone was his 19-year-old boyfriend, and that they had an argument while drinking. Against the protests of the two women who had called 911, the officers turned him over to Dahmer. They later reported smelling a strange scent while inside Dahmer's apartment, but did not investigate it. The smell was the body of Tony Hughes, Dahmer's previous victim, decomposing in the bedroom. The officers did not make any attempt to verify Sinthasomphone's age and failed to run a background check that would have revealed Dahmer was a convicted child molester still under probation.[31] Later that night, Dahmer killed and dismembered Sinthasomphone, keeping his skull as a souvenir.

No. They don't.

Yes. They do.

In the courts, you are presumed innocent until proved guilty. On the streets, the cops have to assume a position to protect themselves and third parties. To do otherwise is foolish and can be deadly. In reality, their actions of securing the guy was probably the safest thing to do for all involved.

However, could they have been less rough, probably.

Naked 14-year-old boy, bleeding from his rectum, heavily under the influence of alcohol turned back over to his rapist (and eventual murderer) by two police officers?

Laziest and most incompetent police officers ever? :disgusting:

With this growing issue of cops abusing their powers just for fun, I'm glad I don't live in the states.

Yet another example of the government not liking what someone does as their hobby (in this case: blogging about crime and politics) and making sure to arrest this person just because.

Idiots like you are what's wrong with this country. Anyone who reads that story and thinks that the police acted in an acceptable is a sniveling boot lick to authority. Your attitude is what is turning the US into a police state.

😵😀

Perhaps the second group didn't investigate thoroughly enough either. What if there's a conspiracy in the police department to make sure that girl disappears? What if the police chief is in on it himself? Maybe he falsified family records to make it look like these two were related? They should probably just have executed the guy on the spot. Just to be safe.

Nuke him from space. It's the only way to be sure.
