I was just mentioning this because a lot of people were replying that "well they had to question him, there's a report of a child kidnapping", etc. Well the police had already done that, and somehow even with him being fully cooperative the first time (though apparently the officer didn't believe the result, hence the second stop) they felt the need to treat him like a criminal the second time.

And right after this, the insane kidnapper slashes the little girl with the razor sharp knife he had been palming.

The police were correct to quickly separate the two until they had a chance to question him and her separately. Perhaps they were a little too rough in handling him, but I think the safety of a potential kidnapped kid comes first.

Like Adam Carolla keeps saying; Cops are not racists, they are dicks to everyone. It is just that blacks attribute the cops actions to them being black.

In hindsight, the cops acted rougher than necessary, but if the guy actually was kidnapping the girl, which the cops kinda have to assume is true, this wouldn't even be be a story.

In the courts, you are presumed innocent until proved guilty. On the streets, the cops have to assume a position to protect themselves and third parties. To do otherwise is foolish and can be deadly. In reality, their actions of securing the guy was probably the safest thing to do for all involved.
