Is that her on the video first frame?

I'm assuming that's her in the video cause she goes on to say her adopted daughter is different than her. Or it could just be another woman in the same situation.

yes, watch out the pedophile might use some of his dark magic to turn invisible and fly away.

"terrorism" and "protecting the children" are the favorite excuses of authoritarians. Not many people are willing to go on the record as being for "terrorists", or against "children".

Once the guy threw his hands up in the air and it was obvious he wasn't resisting them, they needed to tone it down a notch. Cuffing him, tossing him in a police car, and being inconsiderate during the whole affair was being retarded.

there are two sides to every story. were you there? a lot of his complaints are subjective. "handed him roughly, jerking his arms". they didn't tase him or hit him. i don't know exactly what happened, but if he was treated fine, he might have embellish his story to make a story.

I wouldn't either if I were in his shoes and if detained in the manner he was I would cause a stink too.

"In the manner he was" is what he, an attention whore, is claiming. There's no doubt in your mind at all to the credibility of his story?

The next time a report of a "white girl kidnapped by a white male" happens I expect this RETARDED police force to cuff EVERY SINGLE adult male/female child combo.

Idiots.

ok mr policeman wanna be. how would you have done it right without fucking it up and finding out late you had the right guy and let him go and the girl winds up dead in a ditch.

This:

is what I'm against. They handled it poorly, which is no surprise.

For what?
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/white-grandfather-stopped-cuffed-walking-home-black-grandaughter-article-1.1021896 said:
Corporal Anthony Hipolito of the Austin Police Department verified that Henson was stopped on Feb. 10, as police were searching for a kidnapper who'd allegedly snatched a young black girl nearby.

"Officers verified that the man was her grandfather through a phone call to her mother, and they were released," Hipolito said to the Daily News.

There's probably more to the story than what the guy chooses to post in his blog. Use some common sense.

No one forces them to be considerate.

Thread title sucks. He wasn't cuffed because he was walking her. He should be happy the cops stopped them and questioned them. This is a perfect example of the cops doing their job. If they were a little rough on him then maybe they should say they are sorry. Other than that, this shouldn't even be a news story.

Idiots like you are what's wrong with this country. Anyone who reads that story and thinks that the police acted in an acceptable is a sniveling boot lick to authority. Your attitude is what is turning the US into a police state.

i agree. they were looking for a white man who kidnapped a black girl. WTF people.

you know if they let him go and latter they found the young girl dead and he did it. the post would be calling for those cops to be fired and/or arrested.

i have no problem with it. Hell if it happened to me yes i would be pissed off but understand it.

I do think the cops owe him a apology though. that's it. no lawsuit or anything.

And the funny thing is, if it was a black guy with a white girl, everyone would be crying "but if it was a white guy with a black girl they wouldn't have done anything!!!!!111"

Nope.

Here's the doubt.

The original officer claimed there was a report of a white man kidnapping a black child. Let's see the report. Let's see the person who filed it and check their credibility.

More than likely this guy was a target of law enforcement for unrelated grievances. I think we both understand that.

Well, you have the call about the kidnapping. Then you have these two who fit the description. Then you have grandpa who either won't or can't ID himself and the child at the scene, so the police have to try to ID him and the child via a phone call...

Sounds like this is about 70% grandpa's fault for the ID problems, 25% the fault of the caller who probably saw them walking along and assumed, and about 5% worth of "the cops could have handled it better".

He was detained and released once they figured out what was going on. Get over it.

Also:

yea, I don't see the big deal other than it took the cops some time to figure it out. Also we're only getting his side and it doesn't see outrageous so I take the overall event was mild.

You could just walk up to the guy and start by saying hello. No need to surround him with half a dozen squad cars, lights flashing, guns drawn, SWAT team incoming.

This country is ridiculous. It's like everybody wants to look like they're in a fucking movie. How about just acting like normal people. Cops all want to pretend their Billy Badass and completely forget that they're serving the community.

While the police acted heavy handedly even though he (supposedly) didn't resist arrest, I think it's reasonable for the police to target a white male walking a little black girl, when they had just heard a report that some white male had kidnapped a little black girl.

BTW, a while back my GF and I got tasked with babysitting some friend's kids. (UGH.) My GF's hands were full with the baby, so I took the older girl, who is a different race than me, shopping to give the GF a break. People were polite, but looked at us, and at least one shopkeeper asked about our situation (politely). I didn't think it would be an issue until I was actually out and about.

They didnt have guns drawn, nor did they have a swat team incoming. What was in the article was likely embellished already, you didn't need to take it futher.

And stopping a potential kidnapper, after a report of one matching the same description was just called in... is that NOT serving the community?
