You answered your own question. It is a copy of the record on file, it appears they keep their records in booklets hence the fade away towards the binding of the book.

The real question is why did you ask such an innane question?

Do a google analysis articles about it before trump went on record with his doubts and after. The numbers don't lie. Hell its been on the front page of drudge for weeks since trump came out with his doubts.

1) There was no advantage to releasing the document. None, zero, zip, nada.

2) Giving away freebies is what charities do, not politicians.

3) The more rope he could give his critics to hang themselves the better.

The only reason I can imagine this has been released now is his reelection campaign. If he never released the document or waited until the last moment it might hurt his chances.

Right now just happens to be the opportune time for this minor revelation. The Donald still occupies center stage and is an easy target. He can either formally declare his candidacy or run with his tail between his legs. Either way Obama has a chance to thoroughly trash the man in public and remind the audience that this is a serious matter and not to pay attention to peanut gallery.

If your opponents showed the IQ of a turnip and spent endless hours sitting in the corner opening and closing an empty box and looking absolutely moronic doing it instead of mounting a legitimate challenge to you, would you be in a hurry to stop them?

Personally I don't think he kept them on the hook long enough, he should have waited till about 10/1/2012 to release it, so the voters could still smell the fresh stench of birther pooh as they went to the polls.

Upon further thought, it was probably released now as a special in your face FU to Trump. And Trump is playing right along patting himself on the back for being the one to force Obama to release it, when to the majority of people it just reinforces what a truly ignorant idiot Trump is. And when Trump inevitably announces he's not running for President people will remember the chain of events as 1. Obama pwns Trump by releasing his BC 2. Trump drops out of the race

He did address it, Hawaii issued the certificate of live birth. It is AGAISNT their policy to release birth certificates.

I doubt when this first came up when he was a candidate to be elected President, that he would have been granted the exception to Hawaii state law.

Now that he can do some damage to the GOP, he decided to exercise his power and have it released now.
