Chicago or Houston

I'm a west coast boy and I enjoyed my time in Dallas and Chicago while on business trips.

Chicago was awesome, of course I refuse to live anywhere where it snows so Houston is my pick but I hear it gets damn hot/humid down there.

Never heard anything good about Philly or Baltimore.

I would say NYC, but the salary you'll be making post Match will make living there a strain. Baltimore and Philly are crappy compared to NYC and in the same general area. Houston should be much cheaper to live in. You won't get the same variety as NYC, but that's true of just about anywhere else. I don't know enough about Chicago to comment.

NYC too extreme? uh.... where do you get that idea?

dethman: there are lots of single women in nyc. (no, not me, but i'm just saying. :p) and your life is what you make of it. you can experience "clean" and "silent" if you want, or you can experience nightlife... or both. i've lived in kind of extreme atmospheres in the same city (peace and quiet versus the blustering city life) and i enjoy both. it's up to you.. nyc can almost represent any city (especially foreign ones :p) by just residing here.

i'm a huge proponent of nyc, as you see :)

I lived in the suburbs of Philly... the city is a good place to visit, but it can definitely be very shady. I've walked around 110th Street in NYC at 3 in the morning, and I most definitely wouldn't do the same in most of Philly... the guys I know at U. Penn and Drexel hate living there. Baltimore is similar.

NYC is a great town, and although the locals have a rep for being "cold" or "hard", they do have an incredible sense of community for a huge city. I'd love to live there someday.

Never been to the others, so I can't comment on those.

Borne and raised in Chicago. I've traveled to most of the big cities, and other then Chicago, I'd say I like LA the best.

My vote would be Chicago. Downside is it gets cold.

NYC is not my kind of town. Constant noise, traffic etc. Too too for me.

Philly suburbs are ok, but I grew up in Philly and if I never have to go there again it will be too soon. It's a pit. Oh it gets really hot in the summer. I remember many 100 degree plus humid days there, and it doesnt cool much in the evenings.

Baltimore is improving. If you want to live in the burbs away from DC then it's OK. Also hot, winters are not bad. Ice though.

Don't know about Houston to live in, but Texas is too damned hot for me. I remember in Dallas it was green till late spring then it turned brown except where they used incredible amounts of water to keep things green.

So

Chicago>Baltimore>Houston>NYC>Philly

Houston or Chicago

Houston bc its nice and hot and a nice city. Chicago bc its close to my home, cleaner than NY, and has similar weather to where I live now.

has to be within this list, because i'm choosing between jobs in those particular cities.

How much do you make a year?

New York is the place to live if you can afford it.

NYC, no doubt.
I live in NJ now, but I grew up in the city and I'm there all the time. It rocks.
I work in Philly. It got NOTHING on NYC.

I'd say anything but Houston. I get bored of Houston real quick...

From that list, I'd probably take New York City.

I voted Balitmore b/c I used to live there, but I'd pick either Baltimore, Philly or Houston from that list.

Sprawl in Houston is out of control though, that's not such a good thing.
