What a tool! Why post that even?
Obviously you don't have experience when you need the extra nutrition.
When I was in my peak shape (about 4 years ago) I needed to eat about every 4-6 hours, even if I wanted to only eat 3 meals a day I'd have a hard time eating that much in 3 settings and it's doubtful my body would even process it right.
However a 'protein' or meal-replacement shake is simple to stick in a bag and down right at your desk, and when you are eating all the time, eating becomes work and less enjoyable anyway.
Another thing is if I were to pay for high protein and low fat food for every meal, it would be very expensive...and again finding ways to carry these foods with me and not have them spoil and preparation become difficult. Not to many employers will allow 4 hours of an 8 hour day to be spent cooking, eating and cleaning up after it, and even the argument about well prepare everything in advance doesn't take into account reheating the food or cleaning up after. Plus you need a place to store the meals as well as time at night to make them, it can be done....just that making two meals 'instant' is a nice alternative.
It is true though that most people on supplements are wasting their money and possibly making it harder for themselves to lose weight by adding too many calories.
I have started back in the gym everyday, but I am not supplementing yet....most of the times I still skip a meal....once I put on some more muscle my calorie needs will rise and as I start getting hungry or low energy I will add what I need.
