Well looks like my glancing blow to Florida prediction was way off. This thing looks like it's going to go right up the middle of the entire state.

Joe Bastardi has been pretty spot on since this spring when he predicated an active hurricane season. So I will go with his current track which takes Irma pretty much up the middle of Florida. The cone of uncertainty is still wide but by tomorrow morning we should know pretty closely where this thing will finally make landfall.

C-FAN has also been pretty accurate but their stuff is subscription only and are not putting up any public info for free. They were accurate for Harvey.

Or the Euro models have been tracking quite closely. US models not so much.

And days after calling fears of the impact of Irma an over hyped climate change hoax to his listeners Rush Limbaugh has evacuated his Palm Beach home to avoid dying.

Blend in Rush! That stream of vehicles is like school of fish, which will come in handy given the numbers of pills you're probably traveling with.

I was just reading that GA has already reversed the southbound lanes of I-75 making them all northbound. I just finished repairing the blown head gasket on the generator a little while ago I'll have power if the lights go out. I really don't see too much traffic around town that's leaving the area but I haven't been sitting around watching the DOT cameras either.

Sunday into Monday should be very interesting not to mention the fact that Josie is a strong CAT 4 right behind this one. I did see on the news that Irma has grown in diameter now spanning 1k miles across.

I can tell you that here in Jacksonville the wind has been picking up all afternoon and its quite breezy outside now even though Irma hasn't even touched the state yet with her core. All of the low clouds are rotating counterclockwise so she's definitely influencing our weather right now. Sunday is going to be very interesting I think.

Lol not sure but I think I understand... but not sure.

This-

The high pressure front coming across in an arc from the gulf coast up past the east coast is expected to turn the storm to the north or northeast when they collide. That might not happen until the storm gets west of Key West, in which event the storm would come ashore on the Ft Lauderdale/ Ft Myers side of Florida. OTOH, if the front moves fast enough the the storm will just graze the east coast of Florida & maybe make landfall further north or not at all.

C'mon Cuban terrain, make that system hug you, or better yet tax Irma down a notch! The 90 degree water over there isn't making it look good though, it could get stronger in the next 12 hours.

Nice knowing you Monroe County... 🙁

This is the current forecast and effects for my area plus the surrounding counties.
https://www.news4jax.com/weather/hurricane-irma/what-hurricane-irma-will-bring-to-jacksonville

Your winds are going to be about the same as mine on the eastern side. Tampa is going to take a pounding though. Storm surge is going to be way worse for any hurricane that hits on the western side as opposed to eastern. Copeland is going to get 9' surge for about 5 miles inland.

This is going to suck super bad for anyone on the south western side of FL.

Also, I was super surprised at how many things were open today.

Hmm, God sending a message by moving track west?
