while you're at it, treat yourself to a real greek salad. please note the absence of lettuce
baller.
that shit's delicious.
same with shirazi salad if you ever decide to have a kabob (which is COMPLETELY different than a gyro).
1, kabobs (not kebabs) are a persian food, not greek. "shish kabob" literally means "six kabobs" in farsi. here is a kind of kabob dish. kabob isn't sliced off a spit... it's completely taken off a skewer and eaten with rice.
2, shirazi salad is very close to greek salad, but different. so delicious.
3, gyros are greek usually involving lamb, beef, or chicken sliced off a spit. no rice...

You have to try it, it's great.
The only places I know of are the stands at the state fair. And nothing has descriptions telling you what things are.
i make those all the time at home. one time i made one and my mom came by and asked, 'where's the lettuce.' it was a big face palm momentOriginally posted by: The Boston Dangler
