Where do you buy a 8800GT?

Hmm, when is the Egg going to have the 8800GT in stock?

Also, I've no doubt that NCIX is a reputable place to buy stuff from, but are there any customs taxes or crazy wait times due to customs hold up, or is it smooth-as-silk from here?

I'm also wondering how the EVGA 8800GT stacks up to others; there shouldn't be significant difference across different brands, yes?

Sadly, Egg tends to gouge a bit on hot/early releases like this. Also, their shipping times have been less than stellar lately. They seem to have a holding area at their warehouse that initiates a departure scan even though the package hasn't physically moved anywhere. I used to order stuff on Friday from Egg and get it on Monday. Lately its been coming on Wedsnesday.

The custom problems I was referring to from NCIX were when the BenQ FP241 with updated hardware/firmware was hard to come by. NCIX was the only etailer guaranteeing 1:1 versions, but there were a lot of complaints about panels getting stuck in customs. Hopefully it was a price/size/ground shipping thing and FedEx gets to bypass some of that.

EVGA shouldn't be any better/worse besides the OC'd speeds, which can easily be adjusted with RT/ATItool. I prefer the EVGA warranty and potential for step-up (to the 128SP GTS maybe) over some of the other brands. The throw-in games are a nice bonus too.

I got hitman blood money with the LAST evga video card I bought... if I buy this I will be buying the game again... through evga again... 😛

There are three models on that page, but only the first one is in stock. I'm about to order one, but I wanted to call their sales hotline, and that number just keeps ringing, no answer. Is this a reputable site to buy from? Good shipping times? I'm selecting FedEx 2nd Day.

wow, evga has three different overlocked versions! I bet their super super clocked (700/2000) is neck and neck with the gtx.

I want to pull the trigger on the superclocked, but I don't need it immediately and hoping I might save $20 or so if I wait a week or two.

Yeah, I'll wait a while until I buy one for my own personal system. Prices should drop quite a bit, closer to actually $200 to $225. But I sell pre-built systems, so I wanted a couple asap.

well, pulled the trigger and bought from ncixus

260 shipped for 512 oc'd + insurance + gifts/game if they come through is not too shabby

I'm about to get an 8800GT, but I noticed the EVGA versions don't have HDMI. Anyone know if it's possible to hook this card up with an HDMI adapter/dongle?

Wow...ClubIT has several listed but all sold out. Is this a hard launch or what?

LOL...XFX from Newegg just went up $10. Glad I already ordered it.

Anandtech reports that 512meg variety are supposed to be $200 for lower end models and $250 for higher end.

Don't get baited for these new cards right now. Wait until Rv670 and make the decision.

Actually the AT review said this is not correct.

Ordered my SSC directly from EVGA.com for 289.99

I know I probably could have gotten it cheaper by waiting but... I'm sick of onboard video!

That's not to bad , Is that SSC using the same single slot cooler as the reference card ?

It's possible that a huge cache of 8800 GT buyers has built up since anyone who's in the know and anyone who's wanted to upgrade in the past couple months have been waiting for this.

I just wonder what the retailers are going to do with the scads of 8800 GTS 320's and 640's that they have in stock.
