tech - gpu coolers are manufactured to fit a certain range of cards, though that range can be quite broad. The placement of the bracket for the stock cooler, its size, the position of the screws, etc., seem to vary a great deal from GPU to GPU. So right now it's a bit difficult to say what coolers will fit the GT.

Cheers.

theres a list of coolers that fit the GT, including the thermalright hr-03 v2 (non plus), vf900 (you will have a little trouble), fatal1ty zv7 (something like that) and vf1000

One of the reasons why I bought the zalman vf1000

eventhough the egg's warranty is 30-day limited you still get a lifetime warranty from EVGA right?

Any fan that fits the 7800? fits it. One of the reviews had it. I will edit this when I find it. I think it is the 7800.

Newegg has them

Still a little too pricey.

omg that eVGA sc is $40 more than what I paid this morning on ncixus

you paid $239 for an EVGA superclock?

YES I DID :D $255 shipped.

sold my GTS640 earlier for $300, used that extra money to pick up a Zalman VF1000 heatsink

wow thats a great deal... the link you posted at the top of the thread (where i am assuming you bought it) says 250 for that card... thats why i was wondering... they must have raised the price or something since they sold out... still anything below retail is a steal at this point i think...

Does anyone have any idea how this will compare to a 7800GTX? I was going to skip the 8-series, but nVidia is stretching it out too much.
