I ran across the evga 8800gt ko on newegg so I immediately put in an order but my shipping address was different than my billing address so I had to sort that out which took a whole day. I checked back on to see if they still had the video card in stock but it wasn't, at this point I thought I missed out again. Then suddenly this morning newegg sends an email saying that the address change was fine and that they shipped out the card and it should be here tomorrow.

Will you OC it to see how it will go? I'm really curious if it goes any higher than the reference cards.

Their shelves are loaded with GTs, just waiting to be plucked and taken home by a lucky user...

Newegg is now gouging 299$ for an asus STOCK GT... I saw a BFG GT (i think it was OCed, I don't remember) for 274$ on fry's shelves...

Unfortunately this isn't the case at my local Fry's (Atlanta metro) ... I paid them a visit this afternoon and scoured the shelves, including the ones way up top, and no dice ... also checked out Microcenter, no 8800GT there either. :(

Ordered a 8800GT 'superclocked' 512mb from eVGA online this past Thursday at midnight, and got it in the mail yesterday afternoon.

It's a really impressive card over what I had before, 8500GT 512mb. I'll probably keep it as a spare so when I decide to use the 'Step-up' program in the next few months, I'll have a backup card while i wait.

I picked up the last BFG 8800GT OC from local Best Buy for $250 after coupon and GC. It sure is much faster than my 7800GTX, but I think my 4400+ is holding it back. Time to upgrade to a Q6600.

Hmm that's what I'm going to be upgrading from 7800 GTX, trying to hold out for the new G92 8800 GTS but I have a Lan party on Dec 1 st so I might pull the trigger on a 8800 GT.

What OS are you running

thats cause it has been a week and people cought on... frys probably briefed their employees by now that they DO sell the GT and that they are making mad profit on it... so now its selling out there...
Or maybe your particular frys just doens't have them

I dunno...check this out

firing squad review on older systems

According to those benchmarks anything above 1280 in latest games and it won't matter what processor you're running

And in the ut3/crysis even at 1280 there's very little discernable difference between a x2 4000 and a C2XE X6800

gpu is the current limit on DX10... save the money on the c2d upgrade and use it for a second GT for sli... or a later upgrade to whatever next gen card comes out in a few monthes.
