Our local library is only about 100 yards from my house. I stop in about once a month or so. My kids stop by several times a week.

My last visit was probably about two months ago. My wife and son go there pretty regularly (once every other week or so).

The closest one to us is about five minutes from where I live and they just recently renovate the building. It's always enjoyable to go there.

It's been a while. I tend to buy books since it takes me forever to get through them. I have a card though. I'll get how-to books if I'm working on a project.

My town is actually trying to shut down our central library. They want to tear it down and redevelop it into condos. Naturally everyone who lives in the area is royally pissed. Especially since they can't give any reasonable justification for doing it. They opened up an expensive new branch on the far end of town but it's too far for most residents.

My town I was in had a bit of a crappy one.

My previous one in Carlsbad actually has really nice facilities. When I'm visiting I usually drop by to read/study for a bit. So many chairs/tables everywhere, well lit, quiet, it's pretty wonderful.

don't have a library card. it has probably been nearly 20 years since i went to one. definitely haven't been to one since before highschool, which started in 95.

I was at the library on Monday. I'm usually there about once a month or so to check out a pile of books, and I also use their online service for audio books.

I saw today that libraries are going to start lending kindle books, and if that becomes available to me I will likely buy a kindle.

Never? Unless my mom took me there when I was a kid and I don't remember it...

If I need a book (technical) I just buy it on amazon and add it to my personal library.

Yesterday.

You know how people pick what towns to live in based on the schools? Instead I always check out the library first.

The books in the library smell like shit. I stopped going after borrowing one too many books with a yellow/brown stain on the pages.

Libraries have huge societal value. If more people used them, they'd be able to more intelligently argue their ignorance.

I get music and movies at the library all the time. Lets see the RIAA sue for for that 😛

I used to just straight-up roll up in here without a library card and just start ripping movies with my laptop. 😀 But I have a card now so I don't rip stuff anymore as I don't have a need to.

I said within the last decade because I seem to remember going into one with a girl I was dating. I no longer have a library card since I've moved to a new state. I really don't even know where any of the civic buildings are in my town besides the tag office. Everything can be done on the internet including research and buying books.
