The more aggressive you are in approaching my car from behind the less likely I am to move aside.
If you gradually approach without flashing your lights, then I'm likely to either speed up or move aside on general principles. I realize unimpeded traffic flow is a plus.
Aggression just pisses me off and then I'll do whatever I can to keep you from passing me. So don't appear too eager to pass or it'll work against you.
Do you realize that you're acting no different than the guy behind you? By not moving over, you're trying to exhibit your dominance over him by controlling the lane. You are both being aggressive It doesn't matter who is right, or who "started" it. You're both trying to be alpha males. But in this case, the guy behind you IS right because you're supposed to move right, ya jerk!
Fact #1: Europeans are better trained drivers than Americans.
Fact #2: Europeans commonly flash their brights at people to get out of the left lane.
You should feel ashamed that someone had to remind you to get out of the passing lane rather than doing it yourself.
Precisely... Assholes
qft... It's called the 'passing lane' for a reason. It is not one's personal cruise lane, it's there so people can pass, at whatever speed they may like, slower traffic.
People in general on the roads are a bunch of ***** fuckers. I took a four hour drive last weekend up to a cabin, and on the way there, there was this car in front of me that had an extremely low right front tire, almost to the point of the rim hitting the ground. I got up close behind them and was trying to point and signal to their tire, so they moved over, and when I pulled up next to them, I got a pair of middle fingers. Well, fuck you too. I hope you enjoy dying in a car crash.
I never flash my brights, but if someone actively attempted to prevent me from passing them, I'd flip on my brights and make sure to follow them around as long as I could, just to show them how pretty my headlights were. I'm sure that makes as much sense as trying to keep people from passing you or slowing down if there is someone behind you.
Whenever a car comes up behind me, I move over (if I'm not already in the right lane) and when I come up behind a car, I expect them to do the same. If they slow down, brake check me unreasonably, or lock speeds with the car next to them, they get to enjoy my brights. Seems like a fair trade to me
