You are talking a matter of seconds. I bet to the redneck it seemed like a blink of an eye. It was incredible restraint to quit when he did. Adrenaline rushing like that makes time pass like a snap shot.

From my POV, the fight was over at 1:05 with the blow that looked like it knocked him out. A few seconds before that, the black guy was still trying to fight back by pulling on the white guy's shirt and when that didn't work, he gave his back up to his opponent in hopes to save himself from blows and pray for an opening. Giving your back up to an opponent when you're losing is what normal untrained people do when they're at the bottom.

Again, after watching this video I can't help but see that the redneck has some ground training. Judo maybe, as Judo trains you on how to use your opponent's clothing against them. I really want to see the white guy's facebook page to see if he's had any training which I am very positive he's had.

Thug could've pulled a gun and shot him. I think he could've taken another couple swings to be honest.

If you are attacked by a random thug you need to be 100% sure he cannot get up and retaliate. That means dead or otherwise fully incapacitated.


This not a schoolyard playground. If someone attacks you, defend your life to the fullest. A violent thug trying to do yoga is still a threat.

In the heat of the moment you don't know. Looks knocked out, you slow down, thug shoots you dead or gives a cheap shot tot he grow.

A thug who has attacked you should be beaten to the point where there is 0% chance that they will get up.

He could have been just some regular white guy who watches MMA and took a class for fun. I see an amateur doing trained ground moves and you see backyard redneck wrestling. There's only one way to solve this mystery and that's by digging through his FB!

I finally got a chance to watch the video.

Two idiots fighting. We don't know how it started, obviously we know how it ended.

The white guys didn't do anything to deescalate the situation. His buddy continually taunted white the fight was going on. I'm not sure if all of us are watching the same video.

Both these guys should be charged assault at bare minimum for acting like uncivilized assholes in public. Gotta love video evidence. No self defense involved here, just idiots being idiots.

I'm happy neither had a gun, there could have been other people injured in these guys stupidity.

It means that the person cannot stand up and is not in a position to take care of himself. Which should also be a cue for the people filming him to call the police and an ambulance.

The situation had de escalated and they were walking away when thug ran up to give a cheap shot the back of rednecks head. So any acceptance or mutual agreement was part of the previous confrontation.

This is textbook self defense. Ironically similar to trayvon/zimmerman.

There was an initial altercation, it was defused and over, and thug sneaks up to delve out a vicious assault on an innocent person.

Boxing officially requires a licence, so I suspect that different rules apply 🙂, but you have a fair point IMO about whether any of the white guy's actions could constitute self-defence. I suppose there would be an argument over whether he had been sufficiently provoked.

The white guys could have just got in their car and left. If the black guy had tried to stop them from doing that, that would be a different story.
