it's pretty one sided. he fails to acknowlege that many human qualities are indeed determined before birth. Hair color, eye color, handedness (left handed, right handed), some aspects of personality and temperament, etc. blame implies someone or something is at fault. I see homosexuality as a perfectly natural and healthy, normal veriation of human sexuality (just as being left handed is a perfectly normal human variation) and therefore I wouldn't use the word "blame" when talking about causes. You might as well ask what is to blame for people being straight.

Yeah it is pretty one sided. There are tests for ADHD that actually measure brain-waves in known affected areas that can reliably determine if there is a problem or not. Granted, in the majority of cases, children with poor parents try to solve their problems with a pill for their child (in the case of ADHD) that they hope will solve their problems. But there is a scientific test now, although it isn't' used much unfortunately. Also, instead of saying you became religious after years of mental reasoning, one could argue that is it brainwashing.

Things that are obviously self inflicted like alcoholism shouldn't be compared to developmental disorders that clearly have a correlation with things such as premature birth, etcetera. Though certain people may be prone to developing alcoholism (and, if I recall correctly, these people are more prone to develop addictions to many things), there is still a willful act that triggers it. That is not the case with some other things listed.
