When I Knew I Was Gay

Let me see, oh yeah, it was when I started threads about being gay on a computer hardware site...

I didn't realize you were gay, Pliablegoose.

Now see, if I came back with a snappy misspelling of your name, or made fun of your gayness, I'd be banned, but what the heck, no justice, no peace...

I wonder, what made you desire to tell all of AnandTech when you first knew you were gay? You think we'd care? I don't really mean that offensively, its just strange how you are sharing personal information on a Hardware Forum.

I haven't seen a thread on a guy describing the first time he had sex.

I don't know if you can get much more personal...

and I am glad others choose to share parts of their lives on here. ITS OFF TOPIC. there are so many different kinds of folks around here, it is neat to hear about others people's lives.

no one is born gay, the reason we have sexual impulses is becuase we must propogate our species. There is no 'gay' gene. People are influenced to be gay, some men may be more feminine, and have a greater chance of becoming gay, but it is my opinion that people are born without sexuality, but with a desire to mate.

are you gay yourself?

Quite the contrary...sexuality is a sensitive and complex subject, our genetics drive us to mate with the opposite sex, but some people seem to be 'cross-wired' if you will, and mis-interpret this desire toward the same sex.

When did you know Aidan?

I can't pinpoint a specific time, but I do know that I was 12 or 13 when I was actually able realize that I was gay, and had the knowledge/words to understand it.

that seems a little young to me.

i wouldn't say so. thats about the time heterosexual boys start to like girls so why would it be different for homosexual boys?

The day he chose to be gay was the day when he wasnt my "own flesh and blood". Which is an insult.

I think your brother must have been really sad to no longer associate with you.

Why is that? That's about the age that most people begin to find others sexually attractive.

How about the other side? When did you know that you were, without a doubt, afraid or not, undeniably straight? I mean, full on Football watchin', BayWatch lovin', Playboy readin' STRAIGHT.

Some people only "become" gay in say their 60's, so I don't know if you can necessarily tell until you die.
If you were straight all your life, then you're full on straight.
For instance: the guy who played Sulu IIRC "became" gay recently (what's a better way to put it?).

No, they were always gay but they were in the closet.

Only for you honey.:brokenheart:

From a purely heteroseuxal point of view, it seems that for a guy to look good to women (at a swimming pool for example) they have to be in good physical shape, and have muscles, good physique.

Women seem to just need to diet to look good, and if they workout too much it tends to make them look less good.

What does this have to do with the thread? Im not really sure... hrm

sexual imagery is around children at a very young age, advertising, parents reactions to situations.
by the age of 4 i was interested in women and enjoyed any underwear catalogs.
maybe some guys were exposed to the marlboro man signs too much on road trips?

It's funny. Nobody ever BECOMES anything...we're all born the way we are. You aren't lazy...you were born with ADD. You aren't hiding your problems at the bottom of a bottle of booze....you were born an alcoholic. Heck, somebody made a post a few weeks back linking to a study that says if you're a religeous person it's not because you made that decision through countless hours of mental reasoning....it's because you were born that way. You're not fat because you overeat...you were born that way.

LOL 😀

in classy's case, he didn't BECOME black, he was born black.

oh wait, that one doesn't work does it.
