 Hope you guys overtime also.
Plenty of OT going around, but the 76k is my base at the moment. Topout is 87k.
And before anyone explodes at the pay, please remember that the vast majority of officers at my department are working afternoon/midnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and are dealing with drug addicts, diseased people, the crazies the state let out, and just overall assholes. When I mention that to many of my friends, they quickly decide that it is not the job for them regardless of pay. I won't see a dayshift slot at our current rate of retirement for at least another 20 years.
About $38k for first level tech support at major ISP, but figure includes company match for shares etc. Yearly bonus brings the figure just shy of $40k -- not a lot of money, but it's decent for a job that's pretty easy. The job I'm applying for in the same company has a starting pay of about $45k plus the company match and yearly bonus.
My puny little apartment costs me less than $400/mo all included, and I drive a crappy Aveo. This is all in Montreal.
It beats making $10-12/hr which is the average call center pay here, but when you factor in all the deductions and taxes, it's not actually that much more.
What I like about this place is it's unionized, there are always incremental increases and they actually do pay out the performance bonus, plus all the various perks and benefits are quite good. Not to mention they will accommodate when I go back to school, and pay for it if it's relevant to my career there.

The $4k I make working shitty part time/side nonsense isn't worth mentioning. Although I am working regularly in my professor's lab starting this month, probably minimum wage, but w/e, I'll get publications.
