I live in MD but work in NOVA, all within to the DC metro area.

Just got bumped up over $100k with a new company winning a contract and pulling me onto it. Prior I was making under $100k.

How much over $100k is a mystery to ATOT!

I bet it's 130k.

Uh oh, you're gonna uncover his lie when you start asking questions.

Uh I am not trying to dispute what he said. I just want to know what level he is, it would be cool to see someone at ATOT at partner type level of a large consulting firm.

Algo Trader in Chicago, 6figures + bonus

I know nothing about trading, nevermind auto trading.

How does one get into such thing? You got out of college and just joined a financial firm?

Math/CS/Econ/FinEng degree from a top program and quantitative work experience generally. I worked for an investment bank before grad school and then did quantitative finance for an institutional money manager.

Data analysis and CS background are a huge plus.

Sounds pretty cool. What kind of 6 figure are we talking about? Half mil? Quater? or Eighth?

The bonus part of the compensation of a function of the desk profitability and hugely volatile; the guaranteed part is low 6 figures.

Hmm, I thought you were working in IT.

Anyway, student $11k - $12k.

The $4k I make working shitty part time/side nonsense isn't worth mentioning. Although I am working regularly in my professor's lab starting this month, probably minimum wage, but w/e, I'll get publications.
